EVERY window in Boston seems to have this air conditioner so obviously it works! It was easy to install. Cord was a bit short so we were limited on which of two window to put it in. So far so good>
Just wish it had a better choice for settings.
She does love that remote control! Never has to move off the bed to adjust or turn off! Life is good when you are in college!

awesome unit, worth it

The GE one was colder than the Frigidaire but very loud when the air con turned on and off, it woke me up through the night. I returned it and bought the Frigidaire, I am VERY happy with it, the best quality is that like the GE one I keep the fan on 100% but when it needs to turn on the cold, it is very quiet, for the on/off, makes a huge different so I can sleep. We ran it for 10 days straight with no problems.

It sounds a bit on the noisy side,but not enough to disrupt my overall comfort.This is my third Frigidaire product (the other two being refrigerators),and I've not had any bad experiences in the past.I might purchase an identical unit for another room.I would recommend this produt.

Posted by: INDY5QQ from Grand Rapids, MI on 07/06/2012I bought this air conditioner back in 2007 and after 2007,2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and now 2012 it is still going strong and blowing super cold air! I do not find the unit to be noisy and rarely have a mildew smell. Most of the time the mildew smell is from not running the unit for a day or so but it quickly goes away. There are drain holes on the bottom which fill up a 2 gallon bucket of water every day which I then use to water the flowers with. Even in this 100+ degree heat the unit is a champ and pulls through! The front filter easily slides out to be rinsed under the sink. Highly recommended and worth the money.

Its great that it has an energy saver mode for when I'm not in that room and want the room to stay cool without constanly running and wasting electricity. I love the little remote that comes with it. It's very convenient not having to get up to adjust the temperature. Also, the digital display is nice instead of the analog style. It was easy to put in and install in my window which was a plus. This is probably one of the best AC's I purchased to date.

I like that you can use the remote. The one in the bedroom works great. But because the one in the living room has to cool a much bigger space it takes a bit longer, but still a great product. I was hesitating at first because although this unti had great reviews a lot of people were complaining about the noise. The noise is not that bad at all, I actually enjoy it because it drains out the outdoor noise at night. . I waited for a good sale and best buy was prompt with their delivery and it qualified for free shipping! I would definitely reccommend this product

Well, I agree with people who complain that it is noisy - terribly, ridiculously noisy. Both of them. So disappointing. While they both cool perfectly well, I have to replace them because the noise was driving everone in the house crazy. Stuffing folded paper, foam, even expanding glue, works for a day or so, them the shuddering and incessant vibrating begins again. NOT recommended.
