From First To Last: Matt Good, Travis Richter (vocals, guitar); Derek Bloom (drums).Post-hardcore outfit From First to Last weathered label issues and line-up changes before completing their third full-length. The departure of lead singer Sonny Moore didn't affect the band's powerhouse approach, as guitarist Matt Good assumed vocal duties with ferocious conviction. FROM FIRST TO LAST boasts more melody and straight-ahead rock than 2006's more experimental HEROINE, and one can hear it in the catchy, crunching progressions and anthemic hooks of tunes like "Two As One" and "Worlds Away." The band's personal turmoil is reflected in some of the album's more thoughtful lyrics ("Tick Tick Tomorrow"), but FFTL's primary m.o. is still to create a blast of aggressive, metallic energy that takes no prisoners.
