Posted by: Blackwater73 from Happy Valley, OR on 04/26/2013I bought this video card to upgrade a pc that my son uses primarily for school and some gaming so I picked this one, good value, lots of bang for my buck. The way his mother board is configured though only leaves room for a video card that only takes up one slot. According to the diagram on the box for this one, it should have worked fine. Unfortunately when I went to install it I saw that yes, it only takes up one slot but the fan protrudes into the area where the pci card for his USB 3 is so even though it only uses up one slot, it basically needs the space of 2 so I had to either return the card or remove the usb 3 card, so I returned the video card. If not for that, it would be a great card for $100

Nice upgrade for the money

Posted by: Daren65 from FL on 03/29/2013Upgraded my GT220 to the GT640, and got a lot of bang for the buck. I bought the GT640 at a great sale price. The installation was simple since no extra power supply was needed. 350W power supply is recommended, but works just fine on my system with a 300W PS. Overall, a great bargain.

Great video card for the price

Posted by: jdnmbr7 from Chicago on 03/09/2013I installed this video card on a three year old HP Pavilliion. Now I can set WOW to all high settings without any lag. I have not tried pushing it to Ultra yet. Also , IE now loads quickly no matter how many videos and ads are on a page. The install was quick and painless. I did upgrade my power supply from a 300 to 400W just to be safe. So total I spent $150 to bring a three year old computer back to life insteadd of $500-1000 on a new one. Even with the power supply, it took about 15-20 miutes to install everything. Once I turned it on, the drivers downloaded automatically and after one restart, it was ready to go.

Great graphics card for games

But this Galaxy GeForce GT 640 exceeded my expectations with its powerful graphics and reasonable price. I just plugged it in and fired up my computer and my 1080p monitor automatically adjusted its resolution to high def. The software installed with a breeze. They offer 24/7 support and an extended 3 year warranty. Compared to other cards at this price it can't be beat. It also played Grand Theft Auto 4 with ease without any lapping.

The aspect that I like is that it runs very cool which means stability. Will run any game out there on ultra but must have at least a quad. In conclusion cant go wrong
