World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Launch Event Information and Midnight Store Opening Locations BEST BUY NEW YORK CITY LAUNCH EVENT Get the full World of Warcraft launch experience at the Wrath of the Lich King launch event on November 12, 2008, at the Best Buy at 44th Street and 5th Avenue near Times Square. The fun starts at 8 p.m. and goes through midnight when the first game in the U.S. will be sold. The event includes: Appearances by Blizzard CEO/President and Cofounder Mike Morhaime and Executive Vice President, Product Development Frank Pearce. A chance to meet several World of Warcraft game developers and have your game autographed. The event will be hosted by Geoff Keighley, video game TV host, and will feature interviews, prize giveaways (including Plantronics headsets) and World of Warcraft trivia. Plus, a few Blood Elves will be roaming the line searching for Alliance and Horde members. You will want to be at Best Buy in New York City at midnight when the first game arrives for sale!
