Posted by: gator76 from Sarasota on 06/18/2013I don't like the way Garmin does some things, such as always zooming in on turns. It may have you making unnecessary detours to get where you're gong. The map update was difficult, perhaps it has gotten better by now. The update disappointed with still not being up to date on details like speed limits and red-light camera alerts. Maybe the "up" model would satisfy me, or another brand. I recommend it only if you get it inexpensively. By the way, the Garmin dash mount base stained my new car's dashboard.

It works very poorly, although I don't think there is anything actually broken or malfunctioning. It just isn't accurate. It tries to have you get off at nonexistant exits of limited access highways. (Yes, I updated the maps as soon as I got it.) It doesn't give enough notice when you're going to make turns. It doesn't tell you how many miles you have left to go. I am going back to my ten year old entry level TomTom until I find something that is an acceptable replacement.

The biggest feature was the inclusion of lifetime map updates, as the Garmin this is replacing has become outdated. It made sense to just buy a new unit rather then purchase maps, and this was an excellent choice.

Just enter the address and you were on you way. It made me fell very safe at night. Just to know you wouldn't get lost. Good feeling......
