what a waste of time and money1

I agree with others here. Great place to buy stuff, but that's the end of it. Customer service after the sale sux.
Then I had to pay $100 to the GS before they even come by!!
Here's a hundred dollars, dude. I hope you're here when you're supposed to be....even if he is late, they won't discount that fee.
I lose every way---even with the Black Tie Protection!

Consultation totally worth it!!5

I went into a local Best Buy store and was so overwhelmed at all the options. My husband and I were adding on a den to our home, and although we prefer to buy higher end products, we didn't want to over spend on features we wouldn't use. The gentleman we spoke with in the Magnolia area talked to us about a consultation. I had a friend try to set up one online and she had a terrible time, so I was a bit hesitant. The store associate set it up for two days from then, and the lady called the next day to confirm our appointment. She was prompt, knowledgable, and so nice. I didn't feel like she was selling us a huge sales pitch, she seemed to actually care about what we wanted. She wrote up a bid and we met her back in the store within a couple days. At first I thought the bid was a little high, but as we went through everything in the store, it was exactly what my husband and I wanted. Our install was done within a week and we are extremely happy with this service. The installers were amazing, and everything she recommended to us was right on the mark. It could not have gone better, and we plan to remain Best Buy shoppers for years to come.2 out of 2 found this review helpful.

Bad experience with online order1

Do not order this consultation online, better to go to the store and set it up. I purchased the home theatre consult online. They did not call in 72 hrs to schedule as advertised. I received a note in the mail to call and schedule myself - why did I order online to start with then?
I call and booked the consult - which they could not set up except during the weekdays and finally I accepted a friday booking 4 weeks down the line - and vague timing of between 12pm and 4 pm. I stayed home for the afternoon and consultant never showed up. Now I cannot get my $99 back and they cannot schedule me again except on a tuesday morning. Kinda hard to justify taking time off work for this - especially if they may not show up. I have friends that have booked this consult in store and have had a good experience - I think it just doesnt work too well online.56 out of 65 found this review helpful.

My husband and I went to B. Buy inquiring a Home Theatre system. While the gentleman was nice he was not very knowledgable. Told us the screen on display was $1200.00. After paying the $99.00 for an in home consultation found out the screen was $5500.00. Much more than he estimated the entire system. The service man just didn't seem to understand where we wanted to be and kept suggesting high end products and lots of labr intense ideas. After making many concession and having to make suggestion as to speaker placement etc. we still got a quote of $8000.00 with my husband having to do most of the work. I also feel that running a 3ft. speaker wire for $99.99 a run is outrageous! Waste of time. Many add on labor expenses!70 out of 84 found this review helpful.
