HP - LaserJet Pro P1606dn Network-Ready Black-and-White Laser Printer (10 out of 11)
Rapid high quality printing

Posted by: from St Louis, MO on 04/13/2013This is my 3rd HP LaserJet printer starting with the original LaserJet back in the 1990's. Each generation gets better than the last. Tough to beat their reliability or the printing speed and quality for normal black & white printing. This generation seems faster than the last; but it is a bit louder. Like being able to hook it directly to my local network without & separate box

Perfect for home office... or just a den.

Posted by: from Portland, OR on 01/25/2013We've been using this printer now for about a month, and we're very pleased with it. It's being used as a home-office (not business) printer and we have it hooked up to a router... which allows two computers to map to it. It's very fast (compared to my last HP laser which was about 10+ years old). Image quality is, so far, good. Set-up wasn't as easy as advertised (i.e., not automatic, and it wasn't printing right) and I ended up calling HP tech-support... and was rather quickly walked through it (uninstalling what I'd done and re-installing as well as updating drivers for Windows 8). Works perfectly now.

Best B&W Laser Printer I Have Ever Owned
5
Posted by: from Louisville, KY on 04/16/2011I love laser printers for bulk printing and for everyday documents. Saves $$ on color ink cartridges for my color printer. Not everything needs to be printed in color. I had an HP4L for 12 years and it gave great service. I was ready to update for speed, quality and compatibility with my new computer. After reading many online reviews of the HPLaserJet Pro P1606dn (from sources other than Best Buy) I decided to buy it and it has been great. I now get my first copy in the time that the old printer took to just warm up. It delivers an instant copy. The quality is great and unlike the previous reviewer, I have not had the first problem with two sided printing or any paper jams. In addition, this printer was very easy to set up. From the time I opened the box to printing my first page was about 10 minutes. I also like the "instant cancel" button on the top corner of the printer. Let's say you accidentally hit print on a 30 page document before you realize that you did not specify that you wanted only one page of the document. With my old laserjet, there was no way to cancel the document and you ended up wasting 30 sheets of paper. With this new P1606dn, you just hit the "instant cancel" button and the printing stops very quickly. I could not be happier with this printer. It would be perfect for a home business or just personal use. Incidentally, this is the top rated B&W Laser Printer as rated by Consumer Reports
