Posted by: mongoxboxlive from Hudson, WI on 07/24/2011Used the car kit on a recent trip and I love it. It drops the EVO into Car Panel mode and it works great - I like the experience better than our dedicated GPS navigator.
First - the power plug supports two USB connections - one to power the phone and one to power whatever you like. This is a very nice touch.
Second - the mechanism for securing the unit to the window or dashboard is rock-solid. I wish every car kit used this same mechanism.
Third - the power cord has a movable suction cup that you can use to control positioning of the cable.
The only down-side was that the primary body that the phone plugs into top of the phone while the part that holds the bottom of the phone seems to be somewhat disconnected. This makes for an "off" line at times. Not a big thing functionally speaking, just aesthetics and something you can easily adjust. It just makes it look cheaper from a construction perspective.
I like the device and would recommend it.

NOT THE 3D CAR MOUNT!

Posted by: Luckychef28 from on 06/19/2011This is not the EVO 3D car mount!!! This is the 4G mount, note the USB connection is on the bottom. The EVO 3D USB is on the side of the phone. Search iGrip EVO 3D car mount to see the real thing.
