Finish the fight

Posted by: from on 02/23/2013This is an excellent game. In HALO 3, the Covenant have taken over Earth and the Elites have turned against the Prophets. It's up to the Master Cheif to bring an end to the war between Earth and the Covenant and to save Humanity from extinction. The story is well thoguth out and well executed. HALO still has the best developed story of any FPS. The HD graphics look great. Lots of detail and fluid animation. Gameplay is top notch, the controls work very well and the action is fast and furious. The vehicle controls work very well. The music is also of very high quality. This is a great game all around, but not as great as it's predecessors, nor is it as great as HALO 4 or HALO: Combat Evolved Anniversary. It's an outstanding game, it's just in a franchise that is of extreme high quality and it's hard not to compare it to the rest of the series. A weak HALO is still far better than most series at their strongest. I recommedn this game to fans of sci-fi and action, as well as anyone who has an XBOX 360. If you're looking for a solid FPS with lots of action, this is a great game to get. And you can't beat the 'Platinum Hits' price.

Guns are underpowered in my opinion but it's made up for in the improved AI all around and because they added new flood forms and storyline. I would buy again/recommend it.

Halo 3: the game Microsoft screwed up disc wise

Posted by: from Mount Vernon, Ny on 03/17/2011I've been a big fan of The Chief for a few years and I started off with Halo 1 then went to Halo 2 and finally could complete my experience with The Chief with Halo 3. When I first got it; I tried it on my 360 slim; It wouldn't work right out of the case....so I went back and got another copy THAT copy wouldn't work. It's also great being played on a HDTV. The color was intense. If there is an upcoming Halo 4: PLEASE let it be about what happened to the Chief and his getting back home

As good as the rest!

Posted by: from Chantilly, VA on 03/03/2011While Halo has always been awesome, Halo 3 takes it to the next level. But if you're interested in a better Halo game purchase Reach. Better yet buy them both and complete your collection (if you already have 1 & 2). But if you have never played Halo or Halo 2, don't play this until you have played and finished them, they are on the same timeline and in sequential order, whereas Reach is kind of a prequel.
