Don't worry, Against Me! fans: the band's mastermind, Tom Gabel, hasn't abandoned his cohorts. HEART BURNS is just a solo side project he worked up during his downtime. While he may be in singer/songwriter mode here, he hasn't gone soft; these tunes are full of sharp sociopolitical observations. Imagine an early Bob Dylan schooled on Green Day instead of Woody Guthrie and you'll have a decent entry point into the punk-tinged protest-rock of HEART BURNS.
