Best Buy Marketplace FAQs

I am a My Best Buy™ member. Do I get My Best Buy™ points with Marketplace purchases?

At this time, My Best Buy members do not get points with Marketplace purchases.

  • Best Buy Marketplace items can be purchased with all major credit cards, Best Buy credit cards, My Best Buy™ certificates, and PayPal
  • Best Buy Marketplace items cannot currently be purchased using promotional codes, Best Buy gift cards, Best Buy for Business Cards or Store Credit.

How are Best Buy Marketplace items shipped?

Best Buy Marketplace items are shipped directly from the Seller and can be shipped to most places BestBuy.com ships.

Best Buy Marketplace items cannot be shipped to:

  • PO boxes
  • APO/FPO (military addresses)
  • U.S. Virgin Islands or Guam

Store Pickup and Ship to Store are not available for Best Buy Marketplace items.

Free shipping offered to My Best Buy™ members does not apply to Best Buy Marketplace items.

How do I find information about the Seller?

To find out more about a Seller, to review their policies, or to locate their contact information, you can click on the Seller name found on the product page or on product listing pages (search results) when browsing. After you place an order, you can also find a link to the Seller page when you view your order in My Account.

How do I check my Best Buy Marketplace order/shipping status?

  1. Sign in to My Account
  2. Click View Orders under Account Information/Order Status
  3. Click on the order number
  4. The order details will be updated with shipping status details from the Seller

When you place a Best Buy Marketplace order, you will receive an Order Confirmation e-mail. When your order ships from the Seller, you will receive a Shipping Confirmation e-mail.

How do I cancel a Best Buy Marketplace order?

If you placed an order less than 20 minutes ago, you can contact Customer Service at 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289) and a Customer Service Associate may be able to help you.

Once your order has been sent to the Seller, you will need to contact the Seller in order to cancel your order.

If your order has already shipped, it cannot be cancelled. You will need to contact the Seller for information on how to return your item(s).

Contacting the Seller:

  • Seller Customer Service contact information can be found through the Seller Directory or by clicking on the Seller's name on the order in My Account.
  • If you receive your item and it is damaged, defective, or materially different, you must contact the Seller within fourteen (14) days of receipt to request return information.

How Do I Return a Best Buy Marketplace Item?

Best Buy Marketplace items can only be returned to the Seller.

To return a Best Buy Marketplace item:

  1. Review the Seller's Return Policy on their Seller page. The Seller page can be reached through the Seller Directory or by clicking on the Seller's name on the order in My Account.
  2. Contact the Seller's Customer Service. Contact information can also be found on the Seller page.

NOTE: Best Buy Marketplace items cannot be returned to any Best Buy stores.

Any returns or refunds given by the Seller will be updated in the order status on BestBuy.com.

For any questions regarding a refund when using My Best Buy™ certificates as the form of payment for Best Buy Marketplace items, contact Customer Service at 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289).

If you have already contacted the Seller and were unable to resolve the issues with your order, you can contact Customer Service at 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289). By providing details about your order and the steps you've taken with the Seller, a Customer Service Associate will work with you and the Seller to resolve the issue.

What should I do if I have a problem with a Best Buy Marketplace Order?

Best Buy Marketplace Sellers are chosen in part for their great reputation in Customer Service. Your first step in resolving any Marketplace-related issue is to contact the Seller directly.

Can I Get a Tax-Exempt Refund on Best Buy Marketplace Items?

Yes. If you make a tax-exempt purchase from a Marketplace Seller but do not use a tax-exempt card, you have 30 days to provide your tax exemption information and receive a tax refund.

To request a refund on tax-exempt purchases of Best Buy Marketplace items, call Customer Service at 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289). Please have your order confirmation, along with an exemption certificate, or other required documentation, available.
