E-mail a Gift Message

If you're shipping a gift, you have the option during Checkout to e-mail a gift message to the recipient. This lets them know that a gift is coming, and that it's from you. To send a message, click on the E-mail a Gift Message box, and then type in your message.

Depending on the scenario, here's when gift messages are sent:

  • If you're shipping the gift:

    Your message will be sent once your item has shipped. Recipients should receive their gift message 3-7 days before the item arrives.

  • If the gift is a contribution to a Pitch In™ Card:

    Your message will be sent as soon as the funds have cleared, which may take up to 24 hours.

  • If the gift is a scheduled home delivery item:

    Your message will be sent shortly after the item has been delivered.

The name in the "From" field of your gift message will match the name on your BestBuy.com account. Once you've submitted a gift message, the only way to cancel it is to cancel the order. Sending a gift message will not place the recipient on any e-mail marketing lists.

Returning a Gift

Gifts purchased online may be returned with an original receipt in accordance with our BestBuy.com Return Policy. Credit for the return will go back to the original form of payment.
