For more than 100 years, war has ravaged over the land. But now, powerful Lords have emerged from the fray to promise to bring a peace to the realm. However, that peace is threatened when Ataraxis, ruler of the City of Nexus, takes ill from a deadly curse. Anyone who can find a cure will be rewarded beyond their wildest dreams. A group of four mercenaries heed the call and take action. Each with their own strengths, weaknesses and motivations, the mercenaries set out on an ambitious quest. Will the four Heroes be able to find the cure and bring peace to the land once and for all?

Custom-designed for the Nintendo 3DS, Heroes of Ruin invites you to come along for a thrilling journey to dangerous worlds packed with deadly creatures. Gear up for the action alone in a single-player campaign, or team up with other Heroes through smooth drop-in/drop-out co-op multiplayer for up to four players. Rain death down on your enemies with forbidden spells, blast your way across the battlefields with guns and bombs, slice through packs of foes with a mighty sword, or become stronger by ripping through anything that stands in your way with brutal, bladed fists. Discover new roads to take and new game layouts each time you set out on your adventure. Upgrade your characters to gain an edge during battle by gathering loot, weapons and armor. Use the 3DS' StreetPass feature to buy and sell rare and powerful items from other players, and find unique items, quests and challenges through local Wi-Fi hotspots using SpotPass. Will you rise to the challenge and join the Heroes for the journey, or will the obstacles along the way Ruin your chances of success?
