    House: Acceptance
The opening episode of House's second season finds misanthropic medico Greg House (Hugh Laurie) still mulling over the possibility of rekindling his romance with lawyer Stacy Warner (Sela Ward)--and never mind that Stacy is very much a married woman. The major medical crisis of the evening concerns death-row inmate Clarence (LL Cool J), who collapses shortly after claiming to hear the voices of all his victims. Despite the stiff opposition of Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein) and Foreman (Omar Epps), House and Stacy conspire conspire to sneak Clarence into the clinic so that House can save his life in time for the execution! And in another development, Cameron (Jennifer Morrison) finds herself peculiarly incapable to inform her patient (Christie Lynn Smith) that she has been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

    House: Daddy's Boy
After discovering that his mother was not killed by a drunken driver as he had always been led to believe, Princeton student Carnell Hall (Vicellous Shannon) begins suffering a variety of mysterious maladies. Though he wants nothing to do with Carnell, House (Hugh Laurie) is forced to take the boy's case because he owes Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard) money. Almost immediately, House concludes that Carnell has begun taking drugs--but as usual, the real reason for the boy's troubles lies elsewhere. "Elsewhere", by the way, is where House would rather be when his hyperjudgmental parents (Diane Baker, R. Lee Ermey) pay a visit. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

    House: Hunting
House (Hugh Laurie) faces a possible lawsuit after a confrontation with a gay "stalker" named Kalvin (Matthew John Armstrong). It is soon established that Kalvin is a victim of AIDS, but his symptoms are most confusing--as are those suffered by the patient's father (Wings Hauser). The situation reaches the crisis stage when Kalvin coughs blood all over Cameron (Jennifer Morrison), who may become fatally infected as a result. Elsewhere, House finds a rather unorthodox way to spend time with Stacy (Sela Ward) despite her decision to remain with her husband--and his strategy involves "tampering" with Stacy's pet rat! ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

    House: The Mistake
Six months after the death of patient Kaya McGinley (Alison Smith), whose illness was misdiagnosed by Chase (Jesse Spencer), a disciplinary hearing is held to probe the situation. Prior to being grilled by a panel of his superiors, Chase is questioned about the incident by Stacy (Sela Ward), as are House (Hugh Laurie) and Cameron(Jennifer Morrison)--and to say that their stories don't quite match up is putting it mildly. Making matters worse is the fact that Chase isn't being completely up-front about his relationship with Kayla. Also on the schedule is some behind-the-scenes chicanery involving a famous transplant surgeon (John Rubinstein) with a roving eye for the ladies. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

    House: Deception
At an offtrack betting parlor, House (Hugh Laurie) meets Anica Jovanovich (Cynthia Nixon of Sex and the City fame), whose caustic wit and alcoholic capacity nearly matches his own. After Anica suffers a seizure, House diagnoses pancreatic cancer, but she seems curiously unconcerned. As it turns out, Anica has a history of crying wolf about various medical ailments so that she can make herself feel important--but this time it may be the real thing. All this intrigue is played against an ongoing war of words between House and Foreman (Omar Epps), who is temporarily in charge of the clinic. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

    House: Autopsy
Wilson's young patient Andie (Sasha Pieterse), a victim of terminal cancer, bravely submits to treatment to find out why she has begun hallucinating. House thinks that Andie is a bit too brave to be true, and that her courage is the result of a hitherto undetected brain tumor--but in a bizarre turn of events, House won't be able to "cure" Andie's ailment until after her death. Elsewhere, a male patient tries and fails to impress his girlfriend by performing a self-circumcision. (Elvis Costello) is heard on the soundtrack performing Christina Aguilera's "Beautiful". ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

    House: Humpty Dumpty
Alfredo Ignacio Serricho), the handyman working on Cuddy's house repairs, suffers an apparent athsma attack and falls off her roof. Feeling responsible, Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein) is unable to treat the man, so House (Hugh Laurie) takes over. But before any treatment can be implemented, Alfredo develops a stunning array of horrifying symptoms, each one seemingly cancelling out the last--leading House to the conclusion that neither the fall nor the "athsma" is the root cause of the man's plight. Elsewhere, Foreman (Omar Epps) nervously seeks out a "politically correct" treatment for a hypersentive black patient (Charles Robinson) suffering from high blood pressure. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

    House: Spin
House (Hugh Laurie) is certain that champion cyclist Jeff Foster (Kristoffer Polaha) is suffering from respiratory problems because he's been taking enhancement drugs--but he's ordered by Foster's handlers to keep his theories to himself. The diagnosis keeps changing as new information continues to turn up, culminating in a public brouhaha when the word "cancer" is mentioned. Meanwhile, Cameron (Jennifer Morrison) holds a grudge against Foster for betraying his devoted fans by not telling them the whole truth, and her attitude casts a pall over the entire proceedings. Elsewhere, House prepares to confront Mark Warner (Currie Graham), the husband of his ex-lover Stacy (Sela Ward), at a group therapy session. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

    House: TB or Not TB
House (Hugh Laurie) has a hard time hiding his disdain for humanitarian doctor Sebastian Charles (Ron Livingston) as he treats the man for a possible case of TB. Already a worldwide celebrity, Charles wins even more admirers when he refuses to take medicine as an act of protest against the appalling medical conditions in the Third World--a noble gesture that makes House despise Charles all the more! Somehow or other, this situation spills over into the relationship between House and Cameron (Jennifer Morriason). Meanwhile, Foreman (Omar Epps) manages to insult patient Cecilia Carter (Andrea Bendewald)--but Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein) holds House responsible. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

    House: Sex Kills
Seizure victim Henry Errington (Howard Hesseman) is in dire need of an immediate heart transplant. Unfortunately, the only potential donor has died from a strange illness, rendering the heart useless. In desperation, House (Hugh Laurie) decides to use the damaged heart anyway, and proceeds to "cure" the dead donor--while her grieving husband looks on! And in a separate development, Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard) comes knocking at House's door after the breakup of his latest marriage, resulting in the Odd Couple to end all Odd Couples. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

    House: Euphoria, Part 2
In the conclusion of a two-part story, Foreman (Omar Epps) has begun suffering the same symptoms as wounded police officer Joe Lauria (Scott Michael Campbell), who after being seized by uncontrollable laughter suddenly went blind. . .and just as suddenly died. As Foreman's condition worsens, a desperate House (Hugh Laurie) must rely upon his pet rat to find the source of Joe's fatal euphoria by rummaging through the dead cop's filthy apartment. In the midst of this crisis, Foreman's father Rodney (guest star Charles S. Dutton) shows up to be with his son in his final moments--leading to a bitter quarrel over religious values, even as Foreman is on the brink of death! ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

    House: House vs. God
Rushed to the clinic after collapsing on the street, 15-year-old faith healer Boyd (Thomas Dekker) is diagnosed with a brain abnormality. House (Hugh Laurie) recommends immediate surgery, but Boyd refuses, claiming to be worried that he'll lose his headling powers if he goes under the knife. Of course, Boyd is hiding the real reason why he wants to avoid an operation, but in the meantime he lays hands on terminal cancer patient Grace (Tamara Braun)--who is convinced that she's cured, placing the doctors in this week's ethical dilemma. And in a less solemn moment, Boyd tries to help Dr. Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard) by claiming that God wants Wilson to join House's weekly poker game! ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

    House: Safe
Having endured a lifetime of strange allergic reactions, 16-year-old Melinda (Michelle Trachtenberg) is placed in a scrupulously sterile environment after undergoing a heart transplant. Why, then, has Melinda gone into an apparently allergic shock at home and suffered heart failure at the clinic? Foreman is puzzled by this situation, but House (Hugh Laurie) thinks that the reason may have something to do with Melinda's fiercely protective mother (Mel Harris). Meanwhile, House and Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard) try to live under the same roof without either one of them resorting to murder! ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

    House: Failure to Communicate
While House (Hugh Laurie) and Stacy (Sela Ward) are in Baltimore to explain House's highly suspect Medicaid billing practices, journalist Fletcher Stone (Michael O'Keefe) is rushed to the New Jersey clinic. After suddenly collapsing during a reception, Stone has begun speaking in gibberish, and Cameron (Jennifer Morrison), Chase (Jesse Spencer) and Foreman (Omar Epps) are unable to agree on the cause of the man's affliction. The three doctors contact House by phone in hopes of getting him to return to the clinic, but he is snowed in at the Baltimore airport. Worsening the situation is the fact that Stone has been hiding certain details of his medical problems from his wife (Erica Gimpel)--and now is unable to say anything at all! ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

    House: Need to Know
While 34-year-old "supermom" Margo Dalton (Juile Warner) is being treated for uncontrollable muscle spasms, her daughter Stella (Ellie Fanning) runs amok throughout the clinic. The doctors are unable to find the reason for Margo's bizarre affliction, mainly because (surprise!) she has been lying to her husband about her medical condition. As for House (Hugh Laurie), he and Stacy (Sela Ward) have come to an "understanding" which permits him to wallow in misery as only he can, while Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard), who has had plenty of romantic misadventures of his own, tries to help House pick up the pieces. And after her run-in with AIDs patient in the earlier episode "Hunting", Cameron (Jennifer Morrison) is worried that she is now HIV-positive. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

    House: Distraction
After crashing his ATV and sustaining burns over 40 percent of his body, 16-year-old Adam (James Immekus) suffers heart trouble, seizures and a brain dysfunction--but none of these ailments are connected with his injuries! As House (Hugh Laurie)is wrestling with this medical mystery, he is also plotting sweet revenge against Dr. Philip Weber (Dan Butler) who had ratted him out for cheating way back in med school. House's master scheme is to prove publicly that Weber's revolutionary new migrane therapy is a fraud--by testing it on himself! ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

    House: Skin Deep
15-year-old "supermodel" Alex (Cameron Richardson) makes a public spectacle of herself when she attacks another model on the catwalk--then collapses. Later evincing such symptoms as double vision and short-term memory loss, Alex undergoes testing for heroin addiction--but House (Hugh Laurie)ahsuspects that her drug use is a smokescreen for her real problem, thus setting the stage for his latest ethical quandary...not to mention a HUGE surprise at episode's end. Meanwhile, Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard) is convinced that House's bad leg is getting better, even though the pain has increased beyond the point of endurance. And in a parallel development, Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein) treats a father-to-be (James DuMont) who is suffering from "sympathetic" labor pains. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

    House: Clueless
After a frantic round of "rough sex" wife his wife Maria (Samantha Mathis), a man named Bob (Eddie Mills) suddenly stops breathing. Bob is rushed to the clinic, where he develops a rash and an uncontrollable itch. Foreman (Omar Epps) opines that Bob is suffering from lupus--but House (Hugh Laurie) is convinced that the patient is the victim of an attempted murder. Meanwhile, a Wall Street trader (Peter Birkenhead) suffering from herpes insists that he hasn't been cheating on his wife (Stephanie Erb), and she insists she hasn't been cheating on him; which one is telling the truth (assuming that either of them actually is)? And though House is being driven slowly mad by his new roommate Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard), he's forced to admit that the man is an excellent cook! ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

    House: All In
House (Hugh Laurie) takes a personal interest in 6-year-old patient Ian (MacKenzie Astin), whose kidneys and pituitary gland are rapidly failing. The exact same symptoms occurred to a 73-year-woman who'd been House's patient a dozen years ago--and who had died less than a day after she was admitted to the hospital. Unwilling to make the same mistakes twice, House is bound and determined to succeed with Ian where he had failed with his previous patient. Meanwhile, the boy's regular doctor Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein) is drinking and laughing the night away at a benefit poker tournament for the clinic's oncology department--and House intends to keep her thus occupied until he can figure out a solution to Ian's plight all by himself! ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

    House: Euphoria, Part 1
In the first episode of a two-part story, police officer Joe Luria (Scott Michael Campbell) begins laughing uncontrollably as he chases after a perpetrator--and continues to laugh even after he himself is shot! Though the gunshot won't kill him, Joe's acute euphoria may indeed prove fatal . . .especially after he goes blind. But House(Hugh Laurie) is less concerned with Joe than with his own colleague Foreman (Omar Epps), who suddenly begins exhibiting the same bizarre symptoms--just before Joe lapses into terminal unconsciousness! ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

    House: Forever
After his brush with death, Foreman (Omar Epps) has recovered sufficiently to return to work--but he obviously isn't at the top of his game, and may never be again. Meanwhile, House (Hugh Laurie) tries to figure out why young mother Kara (Hillary Tuck) has suffered a seizure while bathing her baby Mikey, nearly drowning the poor child. As it turns out, the real problem has nothing to do with seizures...and the key to the solution may be in the hands of Kara's husband Brent (Kip Pardue). Meanwhile, Chase (Jesse Spencer) experiences a difficult shakedown cruise in Neonatal IC; and Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein) and Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard) go out on their first--and possibly last--dinner date. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

    House: Sleeping Dogs Lie
It looks like attempted suicide when a woman named Hannah (Jayma Mays) swallows an entire bottle of sleeping pills. But appearances are deceiving as usual: Hannah has been awake for eight days straight, and all she wants is a little sleep. Unfotunately, the poor woman will die of acute insomnia unless House (Hugh Laurie) can persuade Hannah's partner Max (Dahlia Salmen) to make a most unusual sacrifice. Meanwhile, House himself has been suffering from sleep deprivation ever since Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard) moved in. Elsewhere, a language breakdown results in a Chinese woman being given birth control pills for a head cold; and Cameron (Jennifer Coleman) is outraged when Foreman (Omar Epps) swipes her ideas for a medical-journal article--apparently with House's full blessing! ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

    House: Who's Your Daddy
16-year-old Hurricane Katrina victim Leona (Aasha Davis) is flown into the clinic, suffering from hallucinations--and then from cardiac shock, even though her heart is sound. Making things personal for House (Hugh Laurie) is the fact that the girl is accompanied by his former bandmate Dylan Crandall (D.B. Sweeney), who has just learned that Leona is his daughter. Not only does House suspect that Leona, a congenital liar, is scamming Dylan, but he also has grave doubts over the advisability of Cuddy's (Lisa Edelstein) decision to be artificially inseminated. At the same time, House takes drastic measures to sooth his ever-intensifying leg pains. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

    House: No Reason
Don't you just hate days that start like this? While working on a patient with a grotesquely swollen tongue (and, as we will soon learn, several other nauseating symptoms), House (Hugh Laurie) is confronted by Jack Moriarty (Elias Koteas), the husband of one of his previous patients. Before anyone quite knows what's happening, Moriarty pulls out a gun and shoots House--and the motivation for this horrifying act turns out to be almost as perplexing as the act itself! Despite the blood and the pain, House insists upon continuing the job at hand, while his behavior takes a more bizarre turn than ever before. Before long, House finds it impossible to separate reality from fantasy...and that's the state of affairs as this final episode of House's second season reaches its cliffhanger climax. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
