Great original games

Posted by: from Fargo,ND on 05/07/2013I haven't really tried Ico yet, but Shadow is one of the best games I've ever played! With everything being a FPS these days, a game like this is a great thing to have around.

Posted by: from Cincinnati, OH on 04/17/2013All I can say is I'm glad I got it and played it. I was at first a little reserved that both of these games might be outdated but I was wrong and I was amazed. Beautiful design, great boss battles, fun puzzles, and experience like no other.

Great games, even years later

Posted by: from Phoenix, AZ on 11/21/2011Admittedly I've not played ICO yet (back-log of games), but my time with Shadow of the Colossus was as enjoyable as I remember with the PS2 version. The graphics really have been brought into this decade (you won't confuse it for a current AAA title, but they're good enough that they don't distract) and the gameplay is as exciting as ever. The horse is a bit frustrating to control, but that's because it steers the direction it's facing, not the direction you're facing (e.g. if he's riding toward the camera, you push the joystick left to turn right and vice versa). That's a design choice they made originally, so they left it the same for this enhanced version. The story is interesting, despite almost no talking, and it's really pretty emotional in parts. I highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys games.

I shouldn't have waited so long to play...

Posted by: from Tyler, TX on 11/10/2011I shouldn't have waited so long to play both of these titles. Both of them are wonderful in there own right, but the fact that they come together on disc is fantastic. Ico is a great puzzle/platformer with mild combat. The puzzles range from child's play to I want to strangle whoever thought this up. Shadow of the Colossus is an epic game that consists of 16 boss battles. There are no minions, and no one else, per se, in the whole game. The scale of the of the world is massive! It is made for the colossi, and you are just a visitor. Both of these games have phenomenal audio. They are presented with nature sounds rather than a running audio track. There are times, usually with the battles, that music comes in, and it helps to build up the magnitude of what these games are. The graphics aren't as polished as what you might see from game developed from scratch for the PS3, but the updated PS2 graphics still look great. My biggest beef is that sometimes the controls for the game feel pretty clunky. But honestly, that's not even enough to take away a 5 of 5 star rating for each game. I'm not doing these games justice at all with these descriptions. Pick these titles up! You will not be disappointed.

Wonderful games, now remastered on PS3.

Posted by: from Mt. Horeb, WI on 08/31/2011Ico was a great game. Clever, Original, and Inventive. Shadow of the Colossus is even better. Amazing graphics, incredible boss batlles, gorgeous soundtrack...One of the best games of all time. If you missed either of these two games on the Playstation Two way back when, I definitely recommend them when the remastered versions are released. And for 40 dollars? What a steal! Hopefully this quenches the drought of video games that are all waiting until the holiday season to be released. Hope this review helps! :)
