After going to Costco and a few other stores, I felt that the Best Buy Insignma TV offered the right Price and the installation of the Geek Squad was the selling point for me as I had to leave for home by the time the scheduled install time arrived. Unfortunately they delivered the wrong console. I called it in here in Calif. and they replaced it with no hassle and installed the new one.

Best bang for your buck TV on the market

Posted by: sd24 from San Antonio, TX on 05/21/2013I wanted a large, no frills LCD TV for my living room, and I didn't want to spend a lot of money. This TV fits the bill perfectly. I do not like, nor will I use the 3D feature on most TVs, and I don't need a smart TV as I have a PS3 and a Roku. This TV provides a great product at a great price without those extra features (and the added price those features bring).
The picture quality is average. It is not as good as higher priced models I compared it to, but it is pretty close at less than half of the price. The sound quality is also average, but I plan on purchasing a soundbar to accompany the TV.
My only complaint is quality control. On my first unit HDMI 3 was the only port that worked. HDMI 1 and 2 wouldn't work at all with a variety of cables and devices tested. I discovered this about 30 days into owning the device and I promptly exchanged it at my local store. My second unit functions as it should with all 3 HDMI ports working great. I realize that the return day is only 15 days unless you are rewards zone premier silver, so I would recommend buying geek squad protection on this TV.
If you are a gamer, this LCD TV is a better buy than the Insignia 55" LED, as the LED has significantly worse lag.
To sum up, I feel that I got a great value for my money. Despite a QC issue I would purchase again. Also, the Best Buy customer service was great!

Great TV for the price

The picture even made HGTV look better, which is almost impossible in my world (the wife's favorite channel). I shopped around and for the price you cannot beat the picture quality.

Blue Rays, and regular DVDs look amazing, the picture is the best feature of the tv, watching Netflix is great on a big nice screen, and PS3 games image is just amazing.
I really recommend this TV if you're looking for great picture quality, sound, and affordable.
