Surpisingly good sound for $20...

Posted by: from Atlanta on 04/12/2012I was replacing an old Altec lansing speaker system (with a blown subwoofer) and was open to spending considerably more than this, for good sound. But based on the price and reviews I decided to give it a shot. I must tell you that I was pleasantly surprised. While not a good choice for a large space or situation where you want a LOT of volume, it's fine our small'ish space (our master bedroom). The fidelity is good at low volumes, degrades pretty quickly if you push it. But for a small space, you can't go wrong. They look good too, and don't take up much space.

Posted by: from kentucky on 03/19/2012these speakers are good speakers just not great speakers the sound is really low on them and it doesnt look like they will take too much more power without blowing the speakers you have to turn them on most of the time all the way up just to hear things clearly on the computer

Posted by: from Edina, MN on 02/02/2012I wanted some simple inexpensive speakers for my office so I can listen to music while I work. After looking around online I couldn't believe that Best Buy had what I was looking for that was so inexpensive. They arrived quickly, was easy to connect and sound great. Not great as in crank it up loud and get great sound quality in a large area great, but perfect for my office environment. The included subwolfer makes a big difference in the sound quality.

Posted by: from Jacksonville,FL on 01/15/2012Purchased these on cybermonday for a low price. Used sproadically because the volume, even when at maximum, is somewhat low. Speakers are okay for light desktop use in a home/office environment.

Posted by: from nj on 01/12/2012I expected a lot more from these. I don't see the point of a separate subwoofer since these are so weak. The free harmon/kardon's that came with my dell 8 years ago are still louder than these. Yeah, I know they're cheap. You could do a lot better for the price.

Posted by: from Dayton, OH on 01/11/2012These speakers were cheap, but the sound quality is actually pretty nice for what I paid. Don't expect a large amount of bass from the little sub. Overall, I would buy these again as they are a great upgrade from the built in Macbook Pro speakers.

Posted by: from Monrovia, CA on 01/05/2012If you use them often, you'll eventually find them not working at all when turning on your computer. Unplugging them from your computer and power supply, then plugging them back in while your computer is off seems to work for some reason. Other than that, great deal.
