Other than not having a fast response time when starting a cd, the unit is all that I needed and easy to use. If you want to put in a cd and have it start right away, you might not be happy with it, but the sound is good and, so far, it does what I needed it to do...play CDs through my sound system.1 out of 1 found this review helpful.

I got this to replace a Realistic that worked for 15 years. The first one I got was DOA. The second one works, but is exceedingly slow accepting instructions. You have almost decided that it is not going to work when it finally indicates that it is going to work. It has most of the features that I was used to having and will do the basic operations of playing cds. But I was disappointed with the lag time between giving instructions and them being registered on the unit. It was on a special sale. I probably should have gotten the Sony unit that Best Buy carries.1 out of 1 found this review helpful.

My unit worked for less than a month and then I saw similar reviews. It just stopped playing but was still powered up and turning. No sound. Had a hard time retrieving cd a couple times. No integrated volume control. Quality of sound was rather poor. Really nothing good to say about this player, as it doesn't play. Returned to BB with no problem. Will look for a more established brand.1 out of 1 found this review helpful.

This player is cheap and that is exactly what you get. You have to "play" discs using a combination of the remote and front panel. If you shuffle one disc, it stops after the disc and you have to manually shuffle the next disc. If shuffling all the discs, it will stop after certain discs. It only seems to play about 1/3 of the commercial CDs I have. I'm not keeping this unit; it doesn't work well at all, but hey, its cheap!1 out of 1 found this review helpful.

You Get What You Pay For2

Finding a decent CD carrousel without an obscene price is becoming more and more of a challenge. Already owning and enjoying an Insigia LED TV, I took a chance on this unit. After hooking it up, I found it slow to respond (i.e, change discs, jump to selected tracks, etc). Then it quit altogether. Back it went, and I tried to browse the store for another make. Nothing but boom boxes and MP3 player/docks on display and no reps to assist. After some 15-20 minutes of circling the entire audio area, it became apparent the only thing I would be leaving with was another Insignia.
The new one still has a slow response time, though. After about 4 months of light usage and completely out of the blue, it has decided to stop playing the CD's I've burned, no matter the format. Sometimes I had to turn the unit off then back on to even get the drawer to open to get the "undesired" CD out. So I would say if you simply must have a CD player, plan to use only pre-recorded CD's on this one.23 out of 24 found this review helpful.
