This TV has a terrible defect2

Unless you love the 120Hz feature (soap opera effect) you should stay away from this TV. This TV has a firmware defect: it turns the 120Hz feature on every time you turn the TV on. You have to go through the picture modes (hit picture mode on the remote six times) or go to the advance menu to turn it off (by turning it on, and then off again).
Insignia refuses to fix this problem. Check Insignia’s website and in their forums search for "Disabling Insignia Motion 120hz" and you will see. Stay away unless you want to do this workaround every time you turn on the TV. Other than this, the TV has a good picture quality and has a good price (I got for $599).- Internet Connectable? : No

Just got it up and running. Picture is great, just have to get my eyes adjusted to how vibrant it is. Not experiencing any lag but my kids did not get a chance to play their consoles yet. We'll see tomorrow what they think. Still gonna upgrade to a larger screen when finances permit. This tv replaces a 61 inch dlp rear projection samsung that just died...0 out of 0 found this review helpful.

A huge, good quality big screen LED TV4

It was a pretty good buy at the time being sold for $600. It has RGB, 4 standard HDMI and component HDMI ports - all you need is the cables. Home theatre enabled. It is not heavy for being how big it is. I'd say it weighs around 40 pounds. It does not come with wifi or internet apps, but I find my Xbox 360 to accommodate these bonuses. A standard desktop/laptop would do the same thing with an RGB or HDMI cable. The picture quality is a bit odd. It has this live set feel, but it has great quality. The picture menu has all the options you could ask for in a menu and is very useful. I always customize the picture to my liking. It is a 120hz TV, but it displays 60hz when changing inputs making me think that it only uses 60hz and not 120hz. I only use HD may be the reason, not regular component or a basic cable, or that it uses the other 60hz for other processes dealing with picture quality. I don't know too much about TVs, but I do know the features. This TV has pretty bad video lag. Video lag isn't anything to worry about if you watch TV, but if you play video games, then it is something to consider. I have tried to reduce all the video lag I could using settings. The lag was still great and Very noticeable. I have not used standard component or HDMI component which could severely reduce the video lag. When the TV is on and is on a straight black screen, it looks like it has 4-5 bruises. Three are in corners, one or two along edges. This was probably due to shipping or storage, having other forces pushing against the screen over different periods of time. It is NOT noticeable, any little bit, when using the TV. The box it came in seemed pretty well packaged. The volume on the TV doesn't get very loud, so if you're battling a sibling against sound, you will probably lose. Whispers through the TV can also be annoying since it'll be hard to hear what they're saying. I'm planning on buying a home theatre system, so it won't be a problem when I get it. You should consider buying better batteries than what is supplied for the remote unless you like pushing the same button multiple times. Also for you to go to a certain input, the TV has to know there is a signal going to that input for you to change the TV. Example: If your Xbox is not on and you try switching to that input, it will not let you until the Xbox is turned on. It can be a bit annoying, but when pushing the input button allows you to get to what you want quicker, if it is on, since it cancels out all other inputs that are not being used. As an end note, I did not wall mount my TV, though it can be. I used the stand it comes with. The stand is easy to put on. All you need is a standard Phillips screwdriver. Instructions with pictures come in the box so don't hesitate to look at it if you have trouble. This is also coming from memory as I am on campus and I'm not near my TV. I am very satisfied with my purchase.- Internet Connectable? : No

Wonderful HDTV, Wonderful Price5

We have an Insignia 46" HDTV with almost the same specs, but it's an LCD, so the wall mount and how far it stuck out wasn't pretty. NOW we have this beauty for Less than what we paid for the 46" LCD 3 years ago and it's a huge difference. BTW - The 46" is now in the master bedroom.
Insignia's costs less and like last time, I just waited until a huge sale to buy this TV. It has everything we need, and a few extras. One of the previous reviews complained about not having more Component connections, but that sounds like their fault. The TV says exactly what connections it has and how many.
We love it and we'll probably buy another in the future. Highly recommended.- Internet Connectable? : No
