    Good product

Posted by: from Springfield, OH & Englewood, FL on 04/01/2013I purchased the first one in Ohio and brought it with me to Florida but it failed after about 300 slides. The local Best Buy doesn't carry them so I order another by phone at the Ohio store. It was shipped without damage. It worked fine. I need to return to the original store with the first scanner and perhaps we can have an adjustment made.

Posted by: from New Orleans on 02/22/2013The scanner opreates with ease, but it is limited to 35 millimeter negatives and no-where coud I locate or adapt frames to use.

Posted by: from Portage, WI on 02/08/2013This is a great machine for the price and is easy to operate once you get the hang of it. It is great to enhance old slides and they come out looking better than before. The only downside to this machine is that you are limited to storing 7 slides in the machine's memory before you have to download them to a computer or flashdrive.

Posted by: from TN on 09/27/2012I needed a way to digitize old photos fast. This did the job. The interface is simple, the scans are instant, and the quality is excellent.

    Great scanner, easy to use

Posted by: from UT on 07/12/2012I love this! It scans slides, negatives and pictures. The pictures do better on a flatbed scanner, but I was more interested in converting our slides and negatives.

Poor quality images, misleading "Auto-Focus" claim
    1
Posted by: from SoCal on 03/21/2012The box claims that the unit has "auto-focus." In reality, it's fixed focus. Even then, I wasn't impressed when I manually held the slide caddy in the optimal position (there's a lot of slop in the alignment of the caddy). The dynamic range is poor, so highlights are blown out and shadows are murky. There is also just enough fixed zoom, that you will lose anything at the edge of your photos. I can only presume that this is to help avoid the need to crop the images after scanning. Summary: Best Buy should not be carrying this product.

Posted by: from CT. on 03/14/2012As stated above - useless and returned. Take it or leave it. It is too short because the product has no redeeming value

    Not worth the aggravation

Posted by: from Virginia on 01/30/2012Customer Service from Ion is non-existant. You have a question about the installation and have to wait over 30 minutes on the phone listening to muzak. You hang up in frustration. You call back and talk to their operator only to have her inform you that you "can't jump the "Q" to talk to a technician" You ask for a supervisor and get voice mail. The person does not call you back in a timely fashion. It's now 35 minutes and he hasn't called. You go to their website to troubleshoot and they want more personal information from you than the IRS before they will let you continue. You try the installation one more time exactly the way you did it to start with and it suddenly works. If you can't include easy to use directions and software for non technological people, the product ISN'T WORTH IT!!!

    Great item!

Posted by: from Clovis, NM on 01/23/2012I got the Ion Audio PICS 2 SD Photo, Slide and Film Scanner as gift. When I opened the box it looked fragile. Once I read the instructions (which are very clear and easily understood), the viewscreen scrolled before it finally adjusted itself to view the negatives I had inserted. The one thing I notice and do not like, was photos that had print were copied backwards, so to repair it you will need photo software that allows you to 'flip' the photo so that you can read any print. This device serves the purpose it was made for, but I would have like more options for making corrections to my negatives and photos. It acts like a scanner and what ever you see on your negative or photo prior to putting it into the Ion Audio PICS 2 SD Photo, Slide and Film Scanner will be viewed in your copy. All-in-all this was worth the price.
