Exactly what I needed5

I've been looking for months for an easy way to transfer my old VHS video to DVD via computer. I'd purchased several other products and nothing worked quite like I needed it to. All required me to pop open the computer tower and install the hardware, which is always a pain. The Ion Audio-Video 2 PC Digital Video Converter-VIDEO2PC, however, was so simple! Totally external, it came with everything I needed (no need to rush out and buy cables and cords), plugged one end to the VCR, the other to this wonderful converter, plugged in the USB cord and Voila! The software it came with is excessively simple and user-friendly. I wish I'd purchased this one first. Great product, and well worth the price!1 out of 1 found this review helpful.

Warning: Does not work in Windows 8!2

I bought this to convert old analog videos to digital format using old laptop running Vista SP2. It worked OK, although old computer with 4G ram groaned under load and eventually crashed. Upgraded to new computer with Windows 8. Power director software which is included with device or similar upgraded software included on computer (Power Director 10) does NOT recognize device for video capture.
Manufacturer (ION) is aware of problem, but has no idea if and when they will create new drivers, which they believe is the problem.3 out of 3 found this review helpful.

Just what I needed for my Mac4

Other converters for Mac cost about 30 bucks more. This was on sale and worth the amount i paid. I uploaded the software and ran the program no problem. There are only two small catches...First, the video quality isnt tip top, but that has more to do with the fact that you have to use AV cables than anything, but I was pleased with how my VCR images came out...Second, and this is a little frustrating, if you use iMovie, you cant import the movies directly into iMovie. You have to use Ion's program to capture, and then import the captured video in to iMovie. Its not hard and only takes a few extra seconds, so its no big deal...Over all, I would def. recommend you get the Ion Video 2 PC if you are trying to save home VHS's.2 out of 2 found this review helpful.

I needed to transfer som programs from my DVR to a DVD and before spending 120-190 dollars in a DVD writer, I looked at a video to USB converter, in the past I had used Pinnacle Studio's Dazzle which worked great; unfortunately I could not find an equivalent for my Macbook Pro until I came across this product, for $50 I'm all set, the quality is acceptable, mainly if using S-Video, I read some complaints regarding the audio, but I had no problems with it, the software allows for a lot of customization.7 out of 7 found this review helpful.

I'm a Windows 7 user, and I purchased the VIDEO 2 PC "MKII" version, which claims to "work with virtually any video source: VCR, camcorder, and more" and convert to digital. It came with an installation CD containing the drivers and software. Drivers installed fine; however, aside from it's attractive GUI, the software was worthless for converting from a VCR. The software included was Cyberlink Power Director 8, which doesn't even have an option for capturing video from a VCR. I tried everything and finally ended up going to ion audio's website and downloading the software that comes with their other VIDEO 2 PC version (without the MKII) called EZ Video Converter, and finally got it working. Why would they advertise a feature but provide software that doesn't live up to their claims?9 out of 9 found this review helpful.

this is a Piece of junk you will return
it doesnt work with Video Cameras
i only got it to work with a DVD player
but i could not have the Sound cable plugged in due to the Loud Static noise i would get from the poor quality of this product
the Yellow video cable input was so off i couldnt easly plug a video cable into it
ION audio needs to get some quality control
DO YOUR SELF A FAVOR AND DONT BUY THIS2 out of 9 found this review helpful.
