The sound bar is does not take up a lot of space and has a subdued presence. The subwoofer can be placed anywhere in the room near an outlet. The sound is great.0 out of 0 found this review helpful.

I have been a fan of Klipsch speakers for several years now. I like the typically bright sound the horns produce, the high volume with minimal distortion, and they have some of the richest bass of any consumer-level speakers out there. The Icon SB-1 is no exception. It handles very loud volume with very low distortion, and could easily fill a medium to large room. Bass is powerful and clear.
The system easily learns your existing TV remote functions for volume and mute, and is overall very easy to set up.
My complaint with the system is that it has the lowest volume resolution of any speaker system I have ever used. A single press of a volume button means a significant increase or decrease in volume, resulting in a system that is often either too loud or too soft, with no in-between. For a $600 system, I find this to be inexcusable. I have come up with a workaround to get a proper listening volume by independently setting my TV speakers to fill in the difference, leaving the SB-1 set at the step just below where I'd like it. However, on a $600 system, workarounds should be unnecessary.
Aside from that singular complaint, it's a great setup. But poor volume stepping on a system that quickly becomes too loud is a serious enough mistake it removes two stars for me. If this were fixed, I would happily give a 5-star review. As it is, I would not recommend this system for the price.2 out of 2 found this review helpful.

I purchased the Klipsch SB1 about a week ago to go with my new 51" Samsung E7000 plasma TV and what a combination. Bought this to replace a Sony full surround system that I lost in a divorce and very glad I did (buy the Klipsch). At an on-sale price of $449, the ease of installation and sound quality are unbeatable. While my favorite pasttime is watching hockey on television, the sound quality makes it feel like I'm at the arena. Not a 5.1 system, but a perfectly suitable alternative if you don't like running wires. Don't go the cheap route; wait for this one to go on sale again and you won't be disappointed.0 out of 0 found this review helpful.

After living with a compromised 5.1 surround system because of wiring limitations I decided to see if a sound bar would be a good solution. After checking many reviews I narrowed my choice down to bars from Polk, Harmon Kardon and Klipsch. After a visit to Best Buy to compare the three, I chose the Klipsch SB 1. The new sound bar allowed me to clean up and simplify the wiring and equipment mess in our audio/video setup without giving up much, if anything, on the audio side. The Klipsch SB 1 sounds great with Blue Ray movies, music videos, HD Television and CDs. The lesson learned from this move to the Klipsch SB 1 is that - simple is usually best!1 out of 1 found this review helpful.

There's a reason these Klipsch Sound Reviews tell potential consumers to spend the little extra $$...BECAUSE IT'S WORTH IT!! Being a perfectionist, I have pretty high standards when it comes to home entertainment quality. I had been contemplating purchasing the Samsung HW‑E550 for several months as the design and size was extremely attractive. However, the reviews were back and forth...some 5's and then some 2's, there was no real customer base consistency and that worried me. I started searching HIGHEST RATED and BAM this brand and model Klipsch kept popping up and was very highly rated across the board. I don't think I have ever been more satisfied with an electronics purchase in my entire life! The sound bar itself is loud and clear and reproduces great range. The wireless sub PUNCHES! The adjustable base knob in the back of the sub allows for complete control. I have mine set between the 12 o'clock and 1 o'clock and the vibrations from the rich bass are felt on the couch sitting 12 feet away. I can't imagine how powerful or deep if I'd set the dial to the 2-3 o'clock position. Like I said folks, a little spendy for my liking...but definitely worth it! I have a fairly open living room which bleeds right into the dining room and this setup is more than loud enough. Feels like we're at the movies - cheesy line I know...but this product backs up that sentence!! I gave the appearance a 4 out of 5 only because it couldn't be placed directly infront of my TV as the height of the soundbar is 4.5 inches so I had to put on a lower level of my tv-stand. I think they could have made it slightly sleeker? However, I could not ignore the positive reviews and am still overly thrilled with the purchase!5 out of 5 found this review helpful.
