Synopsis

LEGO City — home to friendly citizens and colorful buildings, a place where humor and fun rule the day. That is, until one relentless criminal takes the neighborhood by storm, unleashing a crime wave that seems destined to doom all those who dwell there. Luckily, there is one last hope remaining for this noble town — you. Your name is Chase McCain, though you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who recognizes you. As an undercover detective, you invisibly drift through the crowds, one day as a firefighter, the next as a construction worker. But while you slide under the radar, you secretly keep all of LEGO City safe from ne'er-do-wells. Now, it looks like there's one more criminal to take care of — are you ready to go Undercover?

Go incognito for an action-packed adventure in a fun, humorous world as the LEGOs take over your Nintendo Wii U for the first time in LEGO City: Undercover. Grab your GamePad and start combing the city for evidence, using your unique controller to receive mission updates and scan for hidden clues and criminals. Transform your controller into a real-time map that you can use to locate waypoints, then hop behind the wheel of more than 100 sports cars, motorcycles and aircraft and zoom into action. Ensure that no one knows who you really are by cloaking yourself in savvy disguises. Each false identity that you adopt gives you a set of special abilities that enable you to solve puzzles and even unlock new parts of the city. The LEGOs are building a new legacy on the Wii U — and the gaming world will never quite be the same.

A Must Have Game!!!
5
Posted by: from Arenac County, MI on 04/01/2013Lego City Undercover (LCU) paints a bold new direction for "Lego" games in general. While previous games were based on other intellectual properties (i.e. Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Indiana Jones, etc.), LCU introduces its own characters in its own universe, where the gameplay setting is Lego City. A vast open-world, with multiple districts that is reminiscent of San Francisco, you'll play as Chase McCain, a veteran cop who is determined to put the renowned criminal Rex Fury back behind bars. Whether you are a kid, adult, man or woman, LCU is a must have game for any one's library. As a matter of fact, the game warrants a consumer to purchase a Wii U if they haven't already done so; it's that good!!!

A Great open world LEGO experience
5
Posted by: from Fishers, IN on 03/30/2013LEGO City Undercover for the Wii U is a huge open world game with lots of humor for both kids and adults. The kids will love the goofy sidekick, Frank Honey. Adults will love all the pop culture references (Dirty Harry, Starsky & Hutch, Shawshank Redemption, Good Fellas and MANY more). The main character, Chase McCain, starts out with no special moves or talents. As you progress in the story mode, you unlock different disguises (8 total) that let you access more of the massive city. The Gamepad is used as your police communicator and will help you find and complete many of the missions from the story. It is used as a GPS, a scanner (three different scan modes) and a camera. These features help you in both the story mode and when you are just running around the city. Once you beat the story mode, the city is your playground. There are so many collectibles to find (characters, vehicles and 3 varieties of lego bricks). There are also nearly 400 challenges (about 20 different types) to enjoy throughout the city. Not to mention several Nintendo related easter eggs. Most LEGO games have some sort of multiplayer mode. LEGO City Undercover is strictly a single player affair. A lot of people may not like this but it really isn’t that much of a negative. My kids enjoy watching each other play. The only real negative about the game to me is the lack of off TV play. All of the other games I have for the Wii U allow you to play completely on the Gamepad. This is not possible with this game. Overall, the long list of positives far outweigh the two minor issues I have with the game. Even if you don’t have kids, this is an excellent game with tons of content.

Fun for kids & adults
5
Posted by: from on 03/25/2013This is Legos take on the adult series Grand Theft Auto. As such, both adults & kids will love the gameplay. The graphics and sounds are great, and the story is easy to follow for kids, while the adults will appreciate the pop culture references & gags. The game is set in a wide open world, with tons of areas to explore resembling NYC, San Francisco, Al Catraz, and other locals. If you loved any of the other lego games, or if you love open world games, this game is a must own. Best Wii U game out yet!

Humorous Open World Lego Adventure
5
Posted by: from Wi on 03/23/2013My kids play this the most and absolutely say it's their favorite game. There are a lot of vehicles to drive around and they often forget aboutt he story and just explore the city for special blocks and collecting. Graphics are good, on par with the other HD lego games. The Wii U gamepad works as your PDA/Cell Phone to keep in contact with headquarters and the kids love it. The story line is very funny and family friendly. Definitely recommended to anyone that likes lego or even those who enjoy open world city exploring.

Great for kids
4
Posted by: from San Diego on 03/20/2013My kids love all the Nintendo Lego games. My sons love this game, but it takes too long to load. These Lego games usually allow 2 players maximum to play together, but Lego Undercover is only for one player! My kids are constantly fighting over who gets to play!! The package I purchased did not state it was for one player only. I found out by researching online. This was very disappointing! Need to make all games multiplayer!! However, it is a fun game!!
