Posted by: from Michigan on 04/19/2013My wife loves this refrigerator. It keeps items cold, the storage bins in the door are outstanding, the produce drawers are large and deep. She loves the large freezer with the pull out drawer and rack, it is great for organizing.

    Great refrigerator

Posted by: from Bloomington, IN on 10/03/2012I've had this refrigerator for a month and it is the best I have ever owned. It is less than 68 inches in height, which fits the space I have, but deeper than my previous one, so I've gained space. I love the freezer on the bottom, and especially the drawer in the freezer for quick finds. The only sound is a soft hum. BUT I don't have the ice maker connected. Before I figured out that I had to switch it off manually, it made a loud grinding noise every so often. I'm using old fashioned ice cube trays and have no problems. Delivery was perfect. The delivery guys actually carried it in using straps. Wow! Impressive!

    Stay away from this refrigerator!

Posted by: from Boston, MA on 09/30/2012I bought this fridge about 2 years ago. On Sept. 26, 2012 it died on me for no apparent reason.. No lights, no power, no nothing. Customer service was no help. Note: this fridge has its own circuit breaker. The freezer door gets jammed easy. Very easy to dent. I was told to only buy LG electronics (such as tv), but not appliances. I didn't listen. My fault. So, as a consumer, please, please, buy brand names known to be in the refrigerator business for many years, such as Kenmore, Frigidaire, etc. Refrigerators usually last for 20 or more years without any maintenance.

Posted by: from Mason, MI on 08/22/2012We have had a similar fridge from LG for 4 years. The freeze quit working a few days ago. We found out from the repairman that there is a design flaw in the refrigerant pipe that can easily start leaking. He added that there is no real fix for it and that LG is pretty hard to work with to get a voucher (prorated) for a replacement. I honestly loved my fridge but if I had known that it would quit working after a few years, I would not have bought it.

Loved it until it needed repair after one year

Posted by: from Olympia, WA on 07/08/2012I have an LG washer and dryer that I love so when I needed to replace my refrigerator, I was drawn to an LG. After 1 year and 2 weeks, the icemaker quit working. I read the manual and checked for tips on the LG website, but had no success, My husband called Customer Service and they had him check several things, but it still didn't work. They had us send them our receipt and said they would try to have our warranty extended as a courtesy. I was really impressed at the time. About a week later they finally gave us an authorization code and the numbers of two repair places. One was in Auburn and one was in Kent. Neither would come to Olympia, When we called LG back, they said there was an approved repair service in Portland (which is twice as far as Kent. or Auburn). They told us they would try to find a place that would come to Olympia to repair our icemaker. They didn't call back so we called again, We were told to wait 5 days and then call back. It has now been 15 days since our first call, and we plan to contact them again tomorrow. We stopped as Best Buy to see if they could tell us of a place locally that would service LG refrigerators. We were given a phone number and it turned out to be for the Geek Squad. Not for refrigerators. When I buy my next appliance, it will not be an LG, and I will find out in advance if there is anyone locally that will service it. I would really be angry if I had bought an extended warranty and received this treatment.

    Too much trouble

Posted by: from Rockville, MD on 07/03/2012Bought this in July, 2009. I have to say that when it's working, it's great. Unfortunately the quality for the one I bought was not good at all. It stopped cooling down in March, 2011 (so it's about a year and a half of normal use). The repair technician had to come twice to get it fixed. However it failed to work again in June, 2012 with the same symptom. The diagnosis was that there's refrigerant leak somewhere in the system and it'd be a major repair. It's really a big disappointment.

Good product but Service could improve

Posted by: from Portland OR on 02/15/2012Love the refrigerator, works great. We found it on BestBuy.com and went to the store to look at it. We wanted white but the store only had the stainless steel. From looking at the pictures we found that the white was similar on the inside. Oddly it took some discussion for the store to match the online price and free shipping. You'd think they would be one in the same but you need to watch out. When the unit arrived at our house and after it was in place the third party delivery guys noticed a scratch on the door. Best Buy stepped up and had a replacement sent in a week. That was good. However the bad part was we missed out on an Oregon Energy Trust rebate because no one called ETO to enroll us in the program which had to be done prior to delivery. So even though the store is blanketed with ads about this program it's up to the consumer to ask each service rep they encounter about it.
