Posted by: JRom from ky on 05/05/2013I've owned an Lenovo IdeaTab A1 since mid August 2012. In January, I had to send it in for service because you had to jiggle the cord every 5 minutes to get it to charge. They kept it approximately a MONTH. Now, it is only May, and I am sending it in for the same problem.

Posted by: usx4kids from on 10/08/2012I purchased 2 of these; one for my daughter who turned 5 & one for my daughter that turned 10. They use their tablets incessantly!! They play games, read books, search the web, watch movies from Netflix, etc. We haven not had any problems whatsoever. It is easy for my 5 year old to navigate what she wants to do on it. We haven't had any issues with reboots or not charging. The battery has good life and my girls charge them every other day or so. I am planning to buy my son one for Xmas, and am also replacing my oldest daughter's Dell Streak 7 (terrible product, hence the reason Dell no longer makes them) with one too. I also love the charger, as the tablet uses the same mini usb as my phone, therefore it's very simple to charge on the go....especially for kids that are on it a lot.

Wanted to love this, and still could

Posted by: techgirl1054 from Michigan on 10/01/2012This was bought to replace a Vizio which had been exchanged numberous times for its inability to charge, apparently Vizio was aware that this tablet had issues with the charger port, and was allowing them to be sent back to the company for a refund, however I purchased mine at Costco (LOVE COSTCO, best customer service ever!!!!) so I returned it to costco. I found this and had heard from my father a software engineer that Lenovo was a good brand. Oh and this tablet was purchased for my 7 year old daughter whom loved it and I did the charging to avoid any issues. Now it won't charge, we have tried different chargers, plugs, you name it. I had my father look at it and he believes there may be a crack near the charging port so I am investigating what if any options I have, I will update my results. As far as the Lenovo app shop it doesn't offer all the apps we would like and it is not very easy to use google to get apps. Thanks for reading.

Very bad experience

Posted by: Chris228 from Champaign, IL on 08/25/2012I had a lot of trouble with the edge of the screen not responding to touch (for instance the shade wouldn't pull down from the top of the screen and I couldn't get a "p" on the virtual keyboard). I sent it to Lenovo for warranty service and after about 5 phone calls checking the status and responding to the same question over and over from their technician, they sent it back to me unrepaired after two months. Evidently they deemed that this lack of touch response still met their specification. I haven't seen evidence online of other people having this same problem but I'm going to steer clear of Lenovo and IBM from now on.

I wanted to love my Lenovo tablet
3
Posted by: HHHannahML from Virginia on 07/04/2012I wanted to love my Lenovo tablet since my first laptop was an IBM Thinkpad.........however, like a few others that posted here- my first experience with the tablet was that it stopped working after about a month (just wouldn't turn on). I wanted the smaller 7" screen, I wanted more versatility than the Kindle Fire, and the price was great- I still remain cautiously optomistic that this new one will last longer than the first one. The good news is that Best Buy took care of me, and I was able to exchange it at the store. I enjoy my Lenovo tablet and would have rated it higher if I did not have difficulty with the first one.

Great budget Andriod Tablet & the BEST bang for $

Posted by: lorinser75 from Auburn, AL on 05/03/2012Pro:
1. Affordable so Perfect for starter Tablet
2. Solid built & Light.
3. Very Responsive touchpad, even the built-in keyboard is g8.
4. Good sound quality
5. 16GB built-in storage for the price
6. MicroSD for extra Storage
7. very stable OS. In a month usage, haven't reboot or hang even once
Cons:
1. 7" screen, what do you expect from the price
2. Single Core CPU, again what do you expect from the price
3. MicroSD slot is hard to access bec. you pretty much have to pry the cover to open
4. Bloatware apps, but easy to remove...well except for Lenovo App market, which is a google market "wanna-be", which will stuck there forever
5. Camera quality sucks....my android phone takes a better/sharper picture

Very pleased with IdeaPad A1

Posted by: JudyJudy20 from Kankakee, IL on 05/02/2012I purchased this to replace my Pandigital Novel, that died after about 11 months of use. I like the front and back cameras, the larger selection of apps for this vs the Novel. I love the built-in GPS feature that you can follow your progress on the maps. I like the 7" screen size that is more portable than a larger 10" device would be. I like that I can plug this into a boombox input and play internet radio stations thru it, or listen thru headphones. I am very happy with everything about this device.
