Looking for Universal Remote5

Was looking for a universal remote. Specifically one to control my cable box as I got tired of switching remotes to do almost everything because of the cable box. Had my heart set on this one, but had to wait months before anyone had it in stock.
Finally got it, and brought it home. Took me a few hours to get everything set up and programmed, but once I did that, it works great. Does everything as advertised and does it better than I figured it would.
Daughter even loves it and calls the remote Jarvis because you can set it up to control all sorts of things in your house too.
A bit on the expensive side, but for me, was well worth the money spent. Great overal product!0 out of 0 found this review helpful.

Not for me3

I can't stand the Directv remote, so I purchased this as a replacement. I also liked the macros, which would make it easier for my wife and kids to watch television or movies. The remote was easy to set up through the computer and the macros worked like I wanted them to. My main issue with the remote is the limited amount of physical buttons and the size of the buttons on the touchscreen. I do not have small hands and my fingers were too large to press the help button and some of the other buttons on the touchscreen. It was also more difficult than I thought it would be to use a touchscreen while scrolling through a DVR or while watching a movie. The controller worked great with my receiver (Denon), DVD player (Oppo), projector (Epson), and my Xbox. I couldn't get it to interact with my Directv DVR very well. The Directv remote would work fine, but this one wouldn't. I wound up returning this unit and getting the basic Harmony for ($60 on sale). This has worked much better.1 out of 1 found this review helpful.

Nice Remote, Easy to Use and Program4

Pretty nice remote, I like how it works and how it feels in my hand when using it. I like how the touch screen works and how the programming setup allows the touch screens to be however you want. The only thing about it that I don't like is all of the buttons to the right of the touch screen of the remote feel like 600 grit sandpaper. It is for some reason extremely annoying the texture of these buttons. I wish I could explain it but it just drives me nuts. I asked my wife and kids if they could tell what I meant and they all agreed it was not a desireable texture and feeling. WHY NOT MAKE THEM SMOOTH. Overall though the purpose and function of the remote was well done.0 out of 1 found this review helpful.

Easy to set up. Unfortunately I had to borrow a laptop to set up the remote because the software would not work on my MacBook.0 out of 1 found this review helpful.

Do not buy!1

I have used Logitech products over the years, from mice and keyboards to universal remotes, and have always had a great experience with a quality product, so I was expecting the same type of experience when purchasing this remote. Was I ever wrong! The first one I bought seemed to have some issues. The first thing they tell you to do is charge the battery fully, which I did. The documentation says that the battery is fully charged when the picture of the battery is totally green. After many hours of sitting in the charging dock, not only was the picture of the battery not totally green, it had not even progressed one bit. The unit seemed to have a charge, so I figured I would try and go ahead with programming this remote.
This is where I found out if you are using a Mac, this is not the remote for you. What should be a simple plug and play operation turns into manual operation of configuring your network settings (yes, that's right, configuring network settings for a USB device) which are not guaranteed to even work, which they did not in this case. Thinking that something may be defective with this unit, since it seems the battery was not charging, and I also found that the power button was not working, I exchanged it.
The second unit seemed to also have the same problem as the first as far as charging the battery was concerned, but at least this one's power button was working. And when I connected it to my Mac, it was instantly recognized. Success! Or so I thought. After going through the steps of configuring my TV and PVR, it was time to save my configuration to the remote. And now the remote was not being recognized, so the configuration could not be saved to it. And no matter how many times the remote was powered off and on, or my Mac was rebooted, the remote refused to be recognized.
Google searches and searches on Logitech's support page showed many people having the same problem. And following the KB articles and discussions on Logitech's support site led to more manual configuration - removing files, rebooting, configuring network adapters, turning off the firewall, still to no avail. Calls to Logitech support had me on hold for over half an hour, so I hung up. But while on hold, I noticed that the icon on the remote screen changed to the one that indicated USB connectivity. Even though it seemed to be connected, the Logitech software still could not find it.
So this one is going back too, and I will search for some other remote that will work.4 out of 7 found this review helpful.

Decent Remote3

So it's a great shot at trying to execute touch. I've had a Harmony 890, One, 900, and 1100. The 900 by far is the best I've ever had. The 1100 I bought to give the physical buttons the heave ho but ultimately Logitech failed with this one. The speed and resolution of the touch screen just isn't up to par with today's tech. One handed use is absolutely awkward. Granted, this came out awhile ago but it's still for sale in the stores. If I had to choose I would stick with the Harmony One or if you're looking at this remote for it's RF functionality I'd go with the 900.1 out of 1 found this review helpful.

I bought this to use the RF capability, but the remote is strong enough, I don't need the RF link. I'm just using the basic IR capability. Works very well.0 out of 0 found this review helpful.

Great for simplifying home a/v5

Depending on your system, this remote can be one of two things: the best addition to your a/v experience, or the most complicated component in your theater room. Although it is designed to simplify your experience, it has the capability of operating hundreds of thousands of devices -- it is a seriously robust little remote! The computer software that is included is very easy to navigate and can help you set up your remote quickly. Be patient, as you're teaching this remote how to help you simplify a lot of actions -- and you'll appreciate it down the road. I've owned three Logitech remotes and have always been impressed with the overall product, as I am very impressed with Logitech as a company altogether. If you get frustrated during setup, call Logitech and ask for their assistance in setting up your remote correctly, it will be worth it!0 out of 0 found this review helpful.
