Just what a remote should be

I love having everything on my laptop in case I need to refresh the remote or make changes to the way it is programmed. For the person who is controlling a TV, cable box, DVD or Blu-Ray player and a sound system, this remote does it all. No reason to spend a lot more money for a more expensive remote.

The remote asks you questions on the screen and helps to solve the issue. So this is great however theit would be better to have the cable box turn on every time

Cosmetically, they are identical...but the 650 only programs 5 devices (vs. the 700 6 or 7 devices)...and does not recharge batteries. These are not huge issues really, and the remote is still very nice, and very functional.

Super remote

Posted by: Giftter from Jacksonville, Fl on 06/15/2013Set up is a pain and a half you need all your model #s, the you need to know the setting of you tv when everything is being used, HDMI1 or Component 2. . .
But once you get it working its awesome until it falls on carpet from the couch the whole thing freezes up. Batteries out, back in pause huff, blow on it abit it starts back working. This has happened at least twice to ours.
And sometimes everything does not cut on or off right, it does have a help button, that's fairly straight forward.
if I had to do it all over again using 2 or 3 remotes won't kill me.
It would help "poor tech skill persons" but the would need it set up and 24hr tech support available, for a remote.

Once you have the model numbers of the devices the rest is simple. It worked the first time perfectly. I think there must be a way to incorporate additional features on the cable remote to allow us to purchase movies but I haven't taken the time to look into it. We were more concerned that it worked with our receiver ( the original volume stopped working). On that score it is perfect.
