Great Universal Remote

Posted by: mars2 from California on 05/13/2013I bought this product because I needed a good universal remote to control my devices. I saw that I could program this remote to turn on/off every device needed for watching TV or watching a movie without needing to turn on each device individually.
The programming was easy. All I needed to know was the brand and model number of each device and how they are used. Once this information was programmed online and sync'd everything worked fine.

I love the fact that it knows which inputs things use so it switches those over automatically when you change from one thing to another (i.e. from watching cable to a DVD).

Remote has problems with Sharp TV's

Posted by: Solveig from San Antonio on 05/12/2013I have used Harmony remotes for years. Replaced remote with new Sharp TV. The remote would not go to correct TV imput more often than not. I called Customer service and they told me to download different software and reset up all devices. The remote was still sending TV to wrong imput. Customer support finally wrote a small program to get TV to go to proper input, but we still have difficulty. At least they fixed remote so that when we hit the help button, the problem usually fixes itself. Customer support says that the problem is with the Sharp TV. We have to hit the help button to finish turning on system at least once a day. Customer support spent almost 3 hours helping me get the remote to work as well as it does now. I probably would have returned remote, but I had thrown away all the packaging because I thought we had it working.

First Time Harmony User

Posted by: from Parma, OH on 05/12/2013I like that Harmony new my TV, DVD players and DVR. But they do not know my new LG home theater. I was still able to teach the remote what I needed. The problem I had is getting the TV to switch inputs, my TV needs a few seconds to accept commands after turning on. So the Harmony remote is not able to change the TV input for me when I select say Cable or DVD. I can do it manually but not with one button. I have been in contact many times with their customer support and they could not get it to work either.

Great all in one remote

I got this one and was reluctant at first but it seems to be a great remote. The software that comes with it does not control every feature. For example, you can't control how long the remote stays dim with the software. You have to use an older version of the software in order to get it to work. I decided not to get the new harmony one remote because it was touch screen and I need the tactile surface of the buttons at night. This is overall a great remote and by far their best remote. Don't let the fact that it is an earlier version persuade you not to get it. It is the best they have. Proven remote.

Great remote for a non-technical person
