This little gadget by Logitech allows the PS3 (which uses Bluetooth) to talk to Logitech Universal remotes that use IR (infrared technology).
All I had to do was plug in the power for the adapter, navigate in the PS3 to do the bluetooth pairing, push a button in the adapter and done.
The mapping for all the commands is done for you in the remote.

This is great product if you have the PS3, now my harmony remote controls the DVR, Xbox360 and the PS3. You dont lose any USB ports on PS3 and it looks very nice and is very low profile.0 out of 0 found this review helpful.

This device is required if you want your Logitech Harmony 700 remote (and other models, too, I suspect) to communicate with your PS3. Set up was only a matter of plugging it into the wall - very easy. No interface with computer or other devices needed to set up. Logitech remote (Harmony 700) responded immediately. It does add one more power cord to your equipment so it adds to the electronic spaghetti, but it does not occupy one of your USB ports which is a good thing. This equipment sits 6-8 feet from, and partly behind, our sitting area, and range and connectivity have not been an issue at all. My only negative is the mere fact that PS3 needs this extra purchase in order to integrate PS3 with the remote and its cost. Our PS3 is used for gaming, online movie rentals, and DVD/Blue Ray use, so it would be silly to forego this function. The adapter added over 70% to the overall cost of the remote. In all, I would recommend this purchase - it works as promised and allows full functionality of my Logitech remote. We've only used it for 6 weeks so can't really comment on durability. I guess a better scenario would be a remote that doesn't require an extra piece of apparatus for integration with PS3.2 out of 2 found this review helpful.

I love this product and really struggled to say anything negative, but the setup was somewhat confusing...when trying to set your harmony remote this device doesn't show up precisely and 2 items "are similar" as referred by the software...once you decide which to use the devise works flawless....totally love it. One other thing, for half the price you can buy an actual PlayStation remote that does the same thing, I don't mind paying a bit more to maintain the use of a single remote, but paying double just seems a bit high, though my perception has been wrong before...I still would recommend this regardless the faults I found with it, maybe not an A+ but still an A nonetheless...1 out of 1 found this review helpful.

Once you get it setup, it does work great with harmony remote... but it took several attempts and a few choice words before it finally worked properly. Its really your best bet to control the PS3 with a harmony remote, but until you get it set up properly, expect a few headaches.2 out of 2 found this review helpful.

Logitech requires you to purchase this module with its universal remotes to control the playstation system. I think if they were able to come up with an extender to control the playstation 3, why wouldn't the software be included in the use of the remote or the wireless extender.1 out of 9 found this review helpful.

Since the Harmony One doesn't handle bluetooth, to make it truly universal for those of us who have a ps3 for either gaming or as a blue ray player this unit lets us use the Harmony to remotely operate the ps3. It has a small footprint and the setup was a snap.2 out of 2 found this review helpful.
