Posted by: KatTheFoxtaur from Boston, MA on 04/27/2013I got this mouse for my Sony Vaio T-series with Windows 8. It works very well, though I admit I don't use all of its features. I don't like the back/forward gestures, they don't often seem to work, and when they do, they're the opposite of the gesture I'd expect, since I have the "natural scrolling" feature turned on.
That aside, I definitely like having a touch mouse, because I tend to rest my middle finger on the right mouse button, and on a non-touch mouse, this causes me to right-click a lot when I'm about to left-click. No such problem with touch mice, if you have both fingers on the mouse at the time of the click.
What I really like about this mouse is that clicking the lower 2/3 of the mouse with two fingers emulates MIDDLE CLICK. Seems to be a forgotten feature in other touch mice. Makes for much easier navigating tabbed windows.
Overall, a very nice product design, definitely worth checking out. :3

If you have Windows 8 you need this Mouse
4
Posted by: Cthulhu from Valparaiso, IN on 04/23/2013This mouse is amazing. The only downside is the Start Screen shortcut is in the middle of the mouse and it is kind of hard to hit on the first try, but the other features work great. The mouse works good and the other Swype Features work perfectly for Windows 8. If you don't have a touch screen this is a necessity. Even if you have a touch screen it's easier to use the Swype on the mouse then the touch screen.

The good and bad average out

Posted by: kenfu from ID on 04/19/2013So anyone who has used windows 8 knows that they boned laptop/desktop users. I was intrigued by the touch surface. It does work great. Swiping motions on the mouse are great.
However, right-clicking is a pain. It inaccurately registers as a left click probably 20% of the time. Might be because I have big hands. You need to make sure you click waaaay right on the thing.
For travel it is awesome. Battery lasts forever. One gripe is the receiver eats up a USB port.
I now reserve this only for travel, and use my big boy wired mouse at home.

Comparable to Apple magic mouse
5
Posted by: XxthecaseyxX from The Woodlands, Tx. on 11/17/2012I purchased this mouse along with my Samsung series 7 17.3" laptop which had Windows 7 installed. All I had to do was plug the Unifying receiver into my computer and set-up was automatic. There were only a few touch gestures that were useful in Windows 7 such as scrolling down web pages. I have since upgraded to Windows 8 Pro and my mouse is perfect for the new interface. The upgraded mouse software that Logitech installed following Windows 8 made my mouse a virtual touch screen for my computer. I can now scroll to the side, switch apps, and perform many more important tasks all with the mouse.
Before the Logitech touch mouse, it was impossible to get a mouse for pc with the same functionality as the Apple magic mouse. I would even venture to say that the Logitech touch mouse is better than the Apple magic mouse.
I especially enjoy the Unifying receiver's capabilities. It can connect up to 6 compatible devices to on usb port. I currently have both the Logitech touch mouse and the Logitech - K800 Wireless Illuminated Keyboard connected to my laptop and they work flawlessly.
A final characteristic of this mouse that I enjoy is its incredible battery life. I have been using the mouse regularly for almost 6 months and I have not had to change the batteries at all.
I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who wants more from their wireless mouse and doesn't mind spending a little extra money.

Windows 8 Ready - Tested
4
Posted by: MrEdNH from NH on 11/04/2012This is more a review to clarify the other comment about the mouse not being windows 8 ready. I have been using this mouse on my win7 desktop for a while now, but saw the review and decided to test the mouse on my win8 laptop.
Created standard user account.
Plugged in receiver...which win8 proceeded to do all the work for me and installed driver and SetPoint software for me
Tested functionality on admin account - Good
Tested functionality on standard account - Good
Rebooted
Tested functionality on standard account - Good
Tested functionality on admin account - Good
Things to note (where other user might have thought it wasn't working)....for the app switching motion you MUST HAVE APPS OPEN....without apps open it will either 'wig out' (attempt to do motion but can't do anything) or display on your screen that you have no apps open. Once i opened a few apps it would switch between them no problem.
Since maybe a few weeks ago the software for SetPoint has been updated to incorporate a few more niceties that I originally rated this product around a 3 w/o.
I would likely recommend the new T650 as an alternate to this one since its built a little nicer for win8 applications in my opinion

Not (really) ready for Windows 8
1
Posted by: hokuhale from Honolulu on 11/01/2012I picked up this mouse because it was marketed as a Windows 8 mouse...I wanted touch control on a Win8 PC that wasn't touch enabled.
For the most part, the mouse works. The touch gestures are simple and intuitive. But, my PC has an Admin account, and a non admin login account. All works fine on the admin account. Things are not fine on the non admin account.
Regarding the non admin account: In short, the drivers work when installed with all the touch gestures. After a reboot (I think), they stop working. Uninstall and reinstall the drivers - they work as advertised for a while and then again stop working. When they stop working, you're left with basic mouse functions - no touch control.
Logitech support floored me. When contacted about this issue the answer was WINDOWS 8 SOFTWARE IS NOT OFFICIALLY RELEASED YET. So yes, while being sold as a Windows 8 ready mouse (even says right on the package), it's still a BETA product.
