It turns out that this camera's Skype app only supports audio groups - not video. The box does not indicate this and the Best Buy sales associate did not have sufficient product knowledge to alert me to the shortcoming. The camera mount is nothing more than a 'hang off the top of the TV contraption' and cannot be rotated left and right without falling off. There is a threaded socket for mounting the camera on a camera tripod. The optics are good and clear at 720p and can be zoomed with the remote. Documentation is marginally useful; you'll need to go online if you need more detailed information.

Great for Non-Techies Wanting to Video Conference

Posted by: ypbtrainer from Destin, FL on 04/26/2013Bought this for my senior citizen mother so we could Skype with her on her main television. Was easy to setup and configure, but not sure if she could do it herself.
We've used it a few times, and the picture quality is actually quite good, and there is little delay or pixelation of the images.
There are cheaper ways to use Skype, but this has to be one of the best ways to do it with a non-smart HDTV.

Posted by: ben24 from ny on 04/26/2013Very nice product. I did think it was a little high in price when the only use is for Skype. The mic did not give a good sound for my viewers. I have a large living room and the mic is not adjustable. Therefore, sitting to far from the camera lends to the sound problem. I do wish that I could snap pics of my Grandchildren. That would be so nice. The camera for its purpose is easy to set up and easy to use.

I must say I was really impressed and thrilled by the my experience with it, as it was very easy to set up, the interface would guide you through the few steps required, and all you need to do is to log in to your Skype account. The video quality is consistently crisp and good. I wish it could come with a rechargeable battery in order to avoid the cord and reduce the clutter. And it would be perfect if it could support Goolge talk too. Overall, t is a good, solid camera that is to be recommended to anybody who enjoys talking with family and friends on video
