    Lost: Adrift
Revived by Sawyer and realizing that Walt is now missing, tormented father Michael screams out for his son as he flashes back to the original time he lost Walt in a bitter custody battle. Out on the raft, Sawyer is bleeding from a gunshot wound, Michael is struggling to breathe, and Jin is nowhere to be found. Back on dry land, Claire questions Charlie about the Virgin Mary statue she has discovered as the confrontation that previously took place between Locke, Kate, Desmond, and Jack down in the hatch play out form an entirely new perspective. While Sawyer and Michael eventually manage to make their way back to the beach following a harrowing close encounter with a strangely marked shark, their luck appears to turn bad when Jin dashes out from the trees with his hands bound behind his back. Behind him, a motley looking crew gives chase before quickly turning their attentions -and weapons - towards the other two waterlogged survivors. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

    Lost: Everybody Hates Hugo
Assigned the task of taking inventory of the food discovered in the hatch's pantry, a deeply troubled Hurley fears that everyone in the camp will soon despise him as he recalls the time he won the lottery and attempted to keep the news a secret from his best friend. In the past, Hurley's secretiveness backfired on him. Now, with orders of keeping the food supplies tightly hushed up, he fears that the same thing is about to happen all over again. Meanwhile, on another part of the island, Sawyer, Jin, and Michael and called to the surface by their captors, who subsequently reveal themselves to be survivors from the tail end of Oceanic flight 815. Their leader, Ana Lucia, and Sawyer clash immediately, and is gradually becomes apparent that The Others have inflicted great torment on this small but determined group. As Charlie pesters Locke for more information on the hatch, Claire discovers the message bottle from the raft and reveals her find to Sun - who immediately buries it so that the rest of the survivors won't lose hope. Back in the hatch, Sayid ponders the strange magnetic wall as Hurley prepares to blow up the food with the remaining dynamite. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

    Lost: ...And Found
As Jin, Michael, and Sawyer are slowly marched towards their camp by Ana Lucia and the rest of the so-called Tailies, Sun is devastated to notice that her wedding ring has slipped off of her finger and is now missing. Though Sun is inconsolable at the loss, Jack and Hurley do their best to keep her distracted to no avail. When Michael makes a desperate escape from the Tailies, Ana Lucia demands that the group press on without him. Jin, however, is insistent that the group sets out in search of Michael, eventually standing his ground to the point where he and Mr. Eko come to blows. Recognizing Jin's loyalty, Mr. Eko agrees to defy Ana Lucia's orders and assist in the search for Michael. After a close call with The Others, Jin and Mr. Eko do locate Michael, though the troubled father refuses to return to the camp until he has found his son. Eventually, Jin convinces Michael to rejoin them on their rip back to the camp, and a series of flashbacks reveal Jin's attempt to become something more than a common fisherman's son while earning the love of the privileged Sun. Later, Sun realizes her wedding ring had been buried with the message bottle. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Lost: Man of Science, Man of Faith
Flashbacks of Jack attempting to perform successful surgery on an injured bride-to-be who longs to grace the dance floor on her wedding day are inter-cut with Shannon and Sayid's efforts to find Walt's dog Vincent and the group's attempt to finally explore the mysterious hatch. After noticing the formidable depth of the hatch, Jack convinces the group to head back to beach camp, where the rest of the survivors are clearly panicked at the prospect of The Others arriving. While Jack assures everyone that they will be fine if they only remain together, Locke and Kate blatantly defy him by secretly making their way back to the hatch. Meanwhile, out in the jungle, Sayid and Shannon search for Vincent and Shannon has a mysterious vision of Walt - who was thought to be out on the raft with his father Michael. As Jack drifts back into the past once again, he recalls a conversation that he had with a stranger named Desmond who also dreamt of becoming a doctor. Later, when Jack tracks Locke and Kate back to the hatch and descends to find out what's happening down below, he suddenly finds himself in a tense standoff with Desmond - who threatens to shoot and clearly appears capable of doing so. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

    Lost: What Kate Did
As the survivors lay Kate to rest and Sayid's eloquent eulogy for Shannon moves the mourners to tears, Kate experiences a vivid vision that sends he back to the days when she first became a fugitive. As the dawn washes over the beach where Jin and Sun share a quiet moment together, Kate climbs up a tall tree in hopes of gathering some mangoes. Though a clumsy slip as she slides down the trunk of the tree throws Kate momentarily off balance, she eventually regains her footing while gathering the fruit and glimpses what seems an impossible sight - a beautiful black horse standing just a few yards away. Flashing back to a pivotal night in her childhood home, Kate recalls waiting on the stairs for her father to arrive home. When the old louse does finally show up, it's obvious he's drunk and that his intentions are far less than fatherly. Eventually, Kate manages to fend off his awkward advances. After tucking him in bed, Kate gets on her motorcycle casually rides away as the house erupts into flames. Unfortunately for Kate the authorities are faster than she suspected, and as she tries to catch the next bus out of town she is easily apprehended by the marshal with whom she would later board Oceanic Flight 815. That night, while being escorted back to Iowa by the marshal during a torrential downpour, Kate escapes after her captor crashes into a telephone three after swerving to avoid a black horse in the middle of the road. Later, in the hatch, Kate leaves Sawyer and the computer unattended following a disturbing incident. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

    Lost: The Other 48 Days
As Oceanic Flight 815 plummets out of the sky towards the beautiful but mysterious tropical island below, the story of the so-called "Tailies" begins to unfold much in the same manner as it did with Jack and the other survivors. Flaming wreckage is everywhere, and the beach is in chaos. As Mr. Eko emerges from the water with a young girl named Emma, Ana Lucia rushes to give the girl mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. Bernard, Libby, and Cindy are all there, too. But over the course of the next forty-eight days, the twenty-three survivors from this section of the plane will fast find their numbers dwindling. Following the initial attack in which Mr. Eko kills two invaders and Ana Lucia emerges as the group leader, a second wave of invaders descends to abduct the children. During the fracas, Ana Lucia kills one of the attackers and discovers a list detailing the names of everyone who has been taken. Deducing that someone within their ranks is a traitor, Ana Lucia singles out Nathan - whom nobody remembers from the flight. But Ana Lucia has fingered the wrong man, a fact she only realizes after she and Goodwin attempt to try the radio they found in an abandoned bunker. Later, after Ana Lucia and Goodwin engage in a life or death struggle and Mr. Eko finally breaks his forty day vow of silence, Bernard responds to a perplexing distress call from Boone and the worlds of these two groups gradually begin to converge. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

    Lost: Orientation
After already witnessing the confrontation in the hatch play out from two different perspectives, the events now play out as Kate experienced them. Once Desmond is overpowered, he frantically explains that he was participating in a solo sailing race around the world when his boat hit a reef and a man named Kevin came to his rescue. After brining Desmond down into the hatch, Kevin informs him that a special sequence of numbers must be entered into the computer every 108 minutes in order to "save the world." In order to back his claim up Desmond directs Locke and Jack's attention to an orientation film produced by the Dharma Initiative - a countercultural research project initiated in the 1970s - in which an official looking man in a white lab coat provides instructions for entering the numbers. While Jack is convinced that the whole thing is little more than a psychological experiment, Locke isn't quite sure and Desmond struggles to fix the computer, which was damaged in the stand off. Eventually, Desmond flees, leaving Sayid to repair the computer just in time to enter the numbers. In flashbacks, Locke's girlfriend Helen proves to him that sometimes in life it's worth taking a leap of faith - a lesson that Locke conveys to the skeptical Jack while trying to convince him that entering the numbers could be a matter of life or death. Back on another part of the island, Jin, Michael, and Sawyer's captors throw the confused trio into an underground cage. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

    Lost: Collision
As Shannon falls dying into Sayid's arms, the insanity within him begins to swell and he turns his gun on Ana Lucia - who fired the fatal bullet. Thinking fast, Mr. Eko is able to subdue Sayid before he exacts his vengeance, and Ana Lucia knocks Sayid out and assets her leadership. Through flashbacks, it's gradually revealed that Ana Lucia hails from a long line of cops but a sudden tragedy nearly killed her. When Sayid regains consciousness, Ana Lucia finds hear authority challenged from all sides: Michael and Jin want to rush the ailing Sawyer back to the camp, and Bernard wants desperately to be reunited with Rose. Still, Ana Lucia does her best to regain control despite the fact that she is clearly slipping. Eventually, after Mr. Eko picks up Sawyer and informs Ana Lucia that he is taking the sick man back to the camp in direct opposition to her orders, she relents. The others are quick to follow, leaving Ana Lucia and the enraged Sayid alone together. As Jin leads his friends back to the camp for an emotional reunion, Ana Lucia throws caution to the wind by cutting Sayid free and dropping the gun at his feet. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

    Lost: Abandoned
As Shannon attempts to rest in the makeshift tent constructed for her by Sayid, she experiences another disturbing vision of Walt that leaves her completely shaken. Gradually, a series of flashbacks reveal that Shannon was once a ballet instructor hoping to land an internship at a prestigious New York dance company. When her father is killed in a car accident, however, Shannon's dreams all go up in flames when her stepmother refuses to give her the money she needs to stay afloat during the unpaid internship. Meanwhile, back in the present, Charlie questions Claire's parenting skills; upsetting the struggling mother and inadvertently revealing to Locke that he has since slipped back into addiction. As the Tailies, Jin, and Michael attempt to get an infected Sawyer back to the camp before he succumbs to the poison coursing through his veins, Shannon sets out into the woods with Vincent in search of Walt. Sayid gives chase, but Shannon voices fear that he just thinks she is crazy and will no doubt leave her as soon as they are rescued. When Sayid sees Walt in the foliage, Shannon dashes into the trees and tragedy strikes. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

On their journey through the jungle, Claire's memories become increasingly vivid while Jack and Locke struggle to keep Henry's presence a secret back at the camp. When Mr. Eko descends into the hatch to get some tools, he realizes that a man is being held in the armory. Curious to find out why this is, Mr. Eko then approaches Jack about the possibility of speaking with the prisoner. Meanwhile, out in the jungle, it appears that Claire, Kate, and Rousseau have finally located the mysterious medical facility where Claire and her Aaron had been held by the Others. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

But things with Cooper aren't always what they seem, and it isn't long before Locke's old man turns up spinning his biggest yarn ever. According to Cooper, he faked his own death in order to cover his tracks after pulling a $700,000 retirement con. He wants to set up a new identity, but since he fears that he's being watched Cooper asks Locke to retrieve the stolen funds from a safety deposit box. While Locke refuses to be conned again, the prospect of saving his father prompts the love-starved son to reluctantly agree. But after Locke recovers the cash, the same men who were after his father threaten to dispense with Helen unless their money is safely returned. Jack, Sayid, and Sawyer have spotted a sailboat drifting just a few yards offshore, and upon swimming out to recover the vessel they are surprised to find Desmond onboard. Now that they have a boat, Sayid plots a bold course of action with Jack as Michael prepares to lead a small group of handpicked castaways to confront the others and rescue his son. Meanwhile, Jack patiently follows Michael into the jungle despite the realization that he and the rest of the desperate father's group are being deceived. Back in the hatch, Locke and Desmond form a connection that could finally provide some answers about the mysterious numbers protocol. Lost: S.O.S.
Bernard's plan to build an S.O.S. sign on the beach is vehemently opposed by Rose, who believes that such an effort will only give the survivors a false sense of hope. Flashback to the day Rose and Bernard first met, and it's obvious that the couple were deeply in love from the very beginning. When Bernard proposed to Rose, however, a confession from Rose that she has terminal cancer only makes Bernard more determined to take her as his wife. Later, while honeymooning in Australia, Bernard reveals that the trip was actually a ploy to get Rose to a world famous faith healer. Though Rose isn't a believer, she goes along with the plan anyway just to please Bernard. When the faith healer tells Rose that there is nothing he can do for her, she nobly attempts to preserve Bernard's hope by letting him think that she is cured. Back at the beach, Rose finally reveals the truth to Bernard. But there's a catch, because despite the fact that the faith healer failed Rose, the island has apparently cured her cancer much like it gave Locke the ability to walk again. When Bernard realizes that Rose doesn't want to be captured because of this, he ceases work on the S.O.S. sign and vows that they will remain together on the island. Deep in the hatch, Locke is attempting to draw the map he saw on the blast door from memory to no avail as Jack and Kate set out into the jungle in hopes of trading Henry for Walt. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

    Lost: The Hunting Party
As Michael makes a mad dash for the jungle determined to rescue his missing son, Jack, Locke, and Sawyer set out in hot pursuit. The man's daughter, Gabriella, has come along as well, and both are certain that Jack can get the job done. As the attraction between Jack and Gabriella becomes increasingly obvious, Jack's father warns him to keep his distance from the girl. Jack has been spending an inordinate amount of time at the hospital in an attempt to save the man's life, and as a result his marriage is suffering. When the surgery fails and Jack Loses his patient, Christian sites the man's age as the main factor in the man's death before sharing a brief kiss with the fragile Gabriella. After admitting that he can't become involved with her, Jack returns home to tell his wife that he wants to focus more on the marriage. Much to Jack's surprise, his wife has some distressing news of her own to share. Meanwhile, back on the island, Jack, Locke, and Sawyer venture into the jungle in search of Michael. As the daylight fades, gunshots ring out. Though Locke suggests that the team return to camp until daylight, Jack is determined to press on. He's sure that he can convince Michael to return to the camp, though Locke knows that there's no chance of that happening until Walt is safe in his father's arms. Out of the trees, a shadowy figure emerges and urges the search party to return to their camp. Their curiosity, says the man, is about to get them all killed. According to this mystery figure, the only reason the survivors haven't all been disposed of is because "They" have permitted them to live. When the mystery man demands that Jack, Locke, and Sawyer give up their guns and Jack calls his bluff, the man proves well prepared to show just how serious he is about the matter. Later, back at the camp, a defeated Jack asks Ana Lucia how long she thinks it would take to build an army. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

    Lost: Fire + Water
This Charlie-centric episode of the hit television series Lost opens as a young Charlie running down the stairs on Christmas morning to discover his brother Liam already unwrapping his gifts. While at first it appears that Charlie has gotten the short end of the stick this year, the future rock start is overjoyed to find out that his mother has actually gotten him a brand new piano. Back on the island, Charlie is grief stricken after being shunned by Claire, and angered that she seems to have taken a shine to Locke. As Hurley tenuously voices his attraction to Libby, Sawyer and Kate grow increasingly uncomfortable about the growing alliance between Jack and Ana Lucia. Later, Charlie's mind begins to play tricks on him when he thinks he sees Aaron's cradle taking a beating out to see, only to snap back to reality standing on the shoreline with the baby in his hands. In the aftermath of the unsettling incident, everyone on the island begins to shy away from the obviously unstable Charlie. His memories subsequently drifting back to the time when he attempted to save his band and his brother from total destruction, Charlie seeks out the advice of Mr. Eko, prompting the confused addict to take one final, desperate shot at redemption. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

    Lost: The Long Con
Sun is injured during a failed kidnapping attempt, leading the survivors to believe that the Others may have returned. Jack and Locke race to ensure that the guns and medicine are safe in the armory, and when Locke reveals that Sawyer has been stockpiling the medicine Jack heads straight for the conman's tent. Sawyer claims that it's a simple case of "Finders Keepers," and Jack agrees while claiming that he's found the meds in Sawyer's tent and now intends to keep them. In flashback, Sawyer attempts to work his familiar scam on a beautiful mark who's smarter than he suspected. She demands that Sawyer teach her everything he knows, a demand to which the surprised grifter reluctantly agrees. Back on the island, Jack and Ana Lucia are having a particularly difficult time rounding up a posse to take on the Others, and Hurley presents Sayid with a radio in hopes that it will distract him from the recent death of Shannon. The Tailies had previously used the radio to pick up Boone's signal from the crashed drug plane, so with a little help it could prove powerful enough to help the survivors send out a distress signal. Later, Sun is dragged into the jungle while working alone in the garden. Sawyer and Kate give chase, eventually finding her bound in the foliage and helping her back to the beach. Ana Lucia sees this as a definite sign that the Others are back, but finds her lust for revenge quickly tempered by a more cautious Locke. But Sawyer and Kate begin to get suspicious since Sun was dragged off just as Jack and Ana Lucia were attempting to gather their forces to take on the Others. As Sawyer's memory drifts back to his attempt to fund the "long con" with a little aid from is ambitious pupil, Sun awakens confused and Jin voices a pointed desire to procure a gun. Back in the past, a meeting between Sawyer and Gordie reveals that Sawyer knows he can get more money out of the girl but is now having second thoughts - an admission that Gordie isn't to happy to hear. Now Jack is racing towards the hatch to get the guns, but Sawyer has warned Locke and the armory is empty. As it turns out, an embittered Sawyer had been playing Jack and Locke against each other all along. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

As Hurley begins to suspect that the island is having an unusual effect on him, his memories drift back to his previous stint in a mental institution and Libby does her best to reassure him that he is strong enough to overcome his addiction to food. Locke is making a slow recovery from the incident with the blast doors, and Henry has finally admitted to Sayid that while he is indeed an "Other" he cannot divulge the goals of his group for fear of being killed. Meanwhile, Libby is determined to help Hurley get back in shape - a task that proves especially difficult when Hurley reveals that he has been hiding food in the hatch. When Libby convinces Hurley to destroy his secret stash of food, the arrival of the entire group prompts the overweight addict to suffer a breakdown. Now questioning his own sanity as a former friend from the institution shows up on the island, Hurley attempts to make sense of the past as Mr. Eko enlists the aid of Charlie in constructing a church. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Michael has just been exposed for his attempt to lead Jack, Kate, Michael, Sawyer, and Hurley into a trap set by the Others, and Sayid has borrowed Desmond's sailboat to sail around to the Others' camp with Jin and Sun. If all works out, Jack and his team will confront the Others from inland as Sayid and company close in from the shore. But when Sayid goes ashore to check the camp, he quickly discerns that the DHARMA station they believed to be there was a fake. Meanwhile, down in the Swan station, Locke and Desmond trigger a false blackout in order to trick Mr. Eko into leaving the computer room. Their plan works like a charm, and before Mr. Eko can get back in they follow with a false lockdown. Desperate to get back in the hatch and enter the numbers, Mr. Eko begins preparations to blast the door open with dynamite as Charlie begs Locke to reconsider his stance; but Locke isn't budging. Behind reinforced doors, a blast rings out as Locke attempts to convince Desmond that the numbers are a sham. A log printout from the day that Oceanic Flight 815 crashed seems to imply that Desmond had something to do with bringing down the flight. Enraged, Locke smashes the computer as Desmond retrieves the fail-safe key from his book and crawls down into the secret compartment to use it. On a dock across the island, the Others hold Michael's group at gunpoint as the man once believed to be Henry Gale reveals himself to be a respected leader within their group. Suddenly, a blinding whit flash consumes the sntire island, prompting everyone except "Henry" to cower in fear. Michael and "Henry" have made a deal, and as father and son board the boat that will presumably lead them both back to civilization Hurley is set free to warn the rest of the survivors to stay on their side of the island. At the same time, an alarm sounds at a snowbound research station, prompting two Portuguese-speaking men to make an emergency phone call; on the receiving end of the line is Penelope Widmore. According to the voice on the telephone, they have finally found "it." ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

    Lost: Three Minutes
Michael has finally regained his strength, and does his best to convince Jack and the rest of the castaways that the time has come to rescue Walt and confront the Others once and for all. The tragedy in the hatch has left everyone shaken. While Jack is determined never to let the survivors be tormented by the Others again, Michael is more determined than ever to storm their compound and take Walt back by force. It appears that the final battle between the castaways and the Others is about to begin, yet some might argue that it started the day Oceanic flight 815 crashed on this mysterious island. As preparations are made to bury Libby and Ana Lucia, Michael emerges as the man willing to lead his team into the ultimate confrontation with the Others. But according to Michael, only five people can go - and he must be the one to choose them. While his decisions are perplexing to say the least, flashbacks gradually reveal just what sacrifices he is willing to make in order to save the life of his child: could it be that he is truly willing to sacrifice both his beliefs and his friends? It begins to appear that Charlie and Claire could be headed towards reconciliation, and as Kate helps Hurley come to terms with his feelings for Libby, Sayid rightfully begins to become suspicious of Michael's plan. Suddenly, out on the horizon, a vessel appears. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

    Lost: The Whole Truth
As Sun struggles with a secret that could forever alter her relationship with Jin, Locke and Ana Lucia descend into the hatch in hopes of finally getting Henry to reveal his true identity. Sun hasn't been feeling so well as of late, and after taking a home pregnancy test she immediately knows why: she's pregnant. Back in Korea, Jin and Sun had attempted to start a family to no avail. Though the fertility specialist said that Sun suffered from endometriosis and would never be able to conceive, the truth is that he feared that Paik family and that Jin was sterile. Admitting to her English instructor Jae Lee that she is relieved not to be pregnant so she can still escape to America, Sun is torn between two men when Jae Lee asks her to stay with him in Korea. Later, Sun reveals her condition to an elated Jin, who believes the conception to be a miracle. Back in the hatch, Ana Lucia has somehow managed to gain Henry's trust and persuade him to draw a map to the sight of the balloon crash. Angry with Jack for not having told her about Henry, Ana Lucia recruits Charlie and Sayid to venture into the jungle and locate the wreckage of the crash. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

    Lost: Two for the Road
Jack and Kate return to the camp with an exhausted Michael, and some deeply unsettling news about the Others. When Jack and Kate find Michael unconscious in the jungle, Jack's determination to confront the Others is quickly sidelines with Kate's observation that Michael needs medical attention. As the pair heads back towards the hatch with Michael in tow, Ana Lucia receives a horrific surprise while attempting to take Henry a bowl of food in the armory. While a chance intervention by Locke saves Ana Lucia's life, she immediately flashes back to the time when her mother, who was also her captain, confronted her about the shooting of a man who had previously confessed to shooting Ana Lucia. As a result of the confrontation, Ana Lucia makes the decision to run away to Australia. On her way, however, she met a man with whom she quickly entered into a mysterious pact. Meanwhile, Michael has regained consciousness. He claims to know where Walt is, but rescuing his son won't be easy because the Others' camp is entirely activated. Now, as Ana Lucia barters with Sawyer to get a gun, Hurley finally works up the nerve to ask Libby on a date. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide
