Q: What doe the inside of this look like? Does it have the compartments for a camera and lenses?
A: See photo of my bag (taken with smartphone). It holds my DSLR with zoom lens, flash, additional lens, flash extension cable, camera battery charger, AA rechargeable batteries with compact charger, slim pouch with lens tissue and unopened media card packages, plus (in removable bag next to camera) USB cords, extra batteries, smartphone clamp holder, and more. My camera and flash instruction books lay nicely over the top of what you see, and when I zip the bag shut, nothing shifts. It's compact and it stands upright on the floor without tipping over.

A: No, but I heard that a new one just came out with one.

A: the flipside has a strap attachment to carry a tripod. I haven't loaded my gear into mine yet but if your tripod collapsed down fairly short you shoulb be great. no rain cover and all access is from your back. the zipper is on the inside close to your body.
A: Haven't been out in a big storm, but was out in a light rain. Everything was dry inside.
Q: can I store a 17 in laptop in case?
A: No, more for a 13 inch or smaller, my laptop is also 17 inch... There is no way it will fit
