The Unique First Season

Posted by: Shhtikk from Ohio on 02/06/2010This first season of Mannix is interesting for several reasons: This season was only shown on TV once, it was never part of the syndication package so for many people this is the first time to see these episodes since 1967. Joe Mannix works for Intertect, a high tech investigation firm that uses computers (check out those huge tape drives and disc drives the size of washing machines!) his boss is played by Joseph Campanella, and we won't see Peggy until the second season, at which time we find out that Joe has gone into business for himself. Some things established in this season will become Mannix trademarks, such as his convertible- In this season its a modified Olds Toronado, customized by none other than George Barris-the same man who designed the Batmobile and the Munsters car.
