Mannix: The First Season [6 Discs] - Fullscreen - DVD (5 out of 5)
    The Unique First Season
    4
Posted by: from Ohio on 02/06/2010This first season of Mannix is interesting for several reasons: This season was only shown on TV once, it was never part of the syndication package so for many people this is the first time to see these episodes since 1967. Joe Mannix works for Intertect, a high tech investigation firm that uses computers (check out those huge tape drives and disc drives the size of washing machines!) his boss is played by Joseph Campanella, and we won't see Peggy until the second season, at which time we find out that Joe has gone into business for himself. Some things established in this season will become Mannix trademarks, such as his convertible- In this season its a modified Olds Toronado, customized by none other than George Barris-the same man who designed the Batmobile and the Munsters car.

Posted by: from milford,OH on 04/06/2009How thrilled I was to find this series on DVD. Mannix is superb. No other show comes close. From the man himself to the action and stories to the fabulous photography you can't find even today, Mannix is on top. I can't wait for the rest of the episodes to come out. I have some on video when they aired on TV Land. To get them on DVD and complete is WONDERFUL. I just wish the interview with Mike Connors was longer, much longer. I wish him good health and happines. From the time I was 10 years old and saw my first Mannix this has been my favorite show. Mannix was my hero.
