Not compatible with my early 2008 MacBook Pro1

I should've read the other reviews before buying this. All signs pointed towards this being fully compatible with my MacBook...however that was not the case. I installed both memory modules and started my computer, however, the screen was black. I could here the computer try to start up, but nothing happened. I reinstalled the old memory and all was fine. I tried reinstalling the new memory, thinking that I may have installed it wrong initially, but again, nothing. SO, from other reviews I'm reading, I'm going to try to return this to my local Best Buy and find another source to get memory from.0 out of 0 found this review helpful.

My computer was slow to open multiple programs with only 2gb originally installed. This was a quick, easy, inexpensive improvement and hopefully I will not have to buy a new laptop for at least another year. The 4gb really makes a difference.- Build or modify your own PC : Yes

Memory didn't work in Macbook1

I installed this in my Macbook after reading multiple blogs telling me not to use this brand. I did the "find your memory" tool on multiple websites and it said this should work. I installed both sticks and the Macbook would not start up. When I installed 1 new one with 1 original it would start up and recognize both, so I tried both new ones again and it didn't work. I returned it Best Buy, which was a painless process.- Build or modify your own PC : Yes

I purchased this product with the assistance of Best Buy's memory finder tool. I was disappointed by that tool. My Macbook would not power up after installing the memory modules. Curiously though, either of the memory modules would work if used along with one of the memory modules that came with my computer. I appreciate that Best Buy allows local stores to handle product returns. Because of my disappointment with this Best Buy purchase, I chose another online source for my memory upgrade undertaking, one that specializes in Mac products. That memory works flawlessly.- Build or modify your own PC : Yes

What is there to say...I installed this memory into an iMAC, and it works great. This is an older iMAC that maxes out at 3GB of addressable memory...it sees all 4GB, but can only access 3GB...but it has improved the performance from the previous 2GB.- Build or modify your own PC : Yes

Does not work with MacBook pro. I put both in, no response. One with original, worked. Tried both slots, one original and this one. Worked in any combination, except both new. Do not buy this for Mac Book Pro. I am surprised Best buy sells this, I expect better from them.- Build or modify your own PC : No

Same problem as everyone else. I put both 2G sticks in my white macbook early 2008 -- it doesn't work. I put one 2G stick in with one 1G stock stick, I get 3G, works fine. This memory apparently cannot communicate well with each other... It won't work together. Lame.- Build or modify your own PC : No
