Horrible purchase

Posted by: from on 03/25/2013Purchase this TV if you are looking for a disposable TV. Paid over a grand for mine and have had it for three years. Now a couple of the 3 million mirrors are stuck and I have white spots on my screen. Reading up on it, I found out this is a common problem and within two months I can expect white, bright spots to cover my screen. Trust me, just one in the middle of your screen will drive you nuts. Now I can look forward to hundreds more or pay as much to fix it as I would just purchasing a new one.

Posted by: from bay area on 11/30/2012I read a lot of reviews some good some bad. From the reviewss I learned DO NO change the lamps yourself or you will have the "spots" everyone talks about. Also get a warranty. i paid $150 for 5 years. Add TV price to warranty price and still agreat deal for 65 inches of pure pleasure.

Great TV for the money

Posted by: from Tulsa, OK on 10/11/2012My husband and I absolutely LOVE this TV! We have owned several different sizes, styles, and brands of TVs before this and the DLP is definitely our favorite. I knew the TV was going to be huge when we saw it in the store, but once it was in our bedroom I was blown away. The picture quality is amazing and watching movies, watching sports, and playing video games are AWESOME experiences on this TV. The only thing I suggest about this TV is, like with all big TVs, buy a surround sound system so that you can get the great sound along with great picture. The sound without a surround sound system is still good, just not amazing. Also, the people who wrote reviews saying that after they replaced the bulb there were white spots - they most likely replaced the bulbs themselves. ALWAYS have a professional replace bulbs and that situation should not happen to you and your TV will be as good as new. The bulbs do and will burn out every few years or more, depending on how often you watch TV. You also have to make sure that when you turn the TV off, you wait about 2 minutes to turn it back on. This will also help the bulb last longer. Overall, I love this TV even if I have to replace a part every few years.

Posted by: from Memphis on 08/20/2012There is a class action lawsuit. It looks like mitsubishi fixed the issue, but did not see fit to recall units. Not all units have the problem, but most do. Watched video on youtube and changed my own dlp chip. Good as new. I will buy again.

worst tv and warranty

Posted by: from Vanceboro,Maine on 07/27/2012I have had this tv serviced 5 times. Tv will shut down by it self or the sound will spike or it could not have any sound. Bulb burnt out prematurely. Thankfully had a warranty but Best Buy still won`t replace the unit under the lemon policy in their warranty. paid $ 250 for a worthless warranty all they do is throw parts at it and hope it fixes the problem

Brilliant Value for Money

Posted by: from Nashville, TN on 07/23/2012I bought this TV 4 years ago and am amazed everytime i watch it. It is fantastic for watching 1080P films via Blue Ray and HD programs on Directv and would recommend this TV to all my friends. It is quite simply the best TV i have owned. If you buy a TV this big, the sound is always going to be poor, so pair it with a decent surround sound system, turn the lights off and be prepared for cinema at home. Its AWESOME!!!!!!

White Spots
1
Posted by: from Riverside, CA on 05/26/2012The lamp went out after 35 months. Replaced the lamp using Mitsubishi parts and after 2 weeks of the new lamp a white dot appeared on the screen. Two days after that another white dot appeared on the screen. After a week our TV looks like it has measles. If you read the reviews of this TV you too will see this is a common issue with Mitsubishi DLP TV's. Photo attached.

Posted by: from north carolina on 04/27/2012broke, will turn it's self off a few seconds after coming on. I loved this tv but out of warranty and will be $800 to fix. from what I read on net this is a very common problem which is then followed by pixilation and other prolems. loved the size and pticture but too much money to spend for 2 yrs of use. check Internet you will find lots and lots of complaints about reliability.

Awesome value, poor reliability
1
Posted by: from Maryland on 02/04/2012Bought this TV and was stunned at the picture quality and price. had to replace the bulb after two years, but they covered that under warrenty. Now I have the white spots showing up all over the screen, and the repair is more than a new TV. I don't expect a TV to last forever - but 3 years???? Buy something that will last a while and skip this TV. The company should be ashamed for not standing behind a product with a known defect
