So far happy with my purchase

Posted by: from Grand Rapids, MI on 05/17/2012Even thought i have only had my new Atrix 2 not even two days now. so far i am impressed with this phone. Coming from an Inspire i wanted a phone with the same size screen. But also i wanted a phone that got good battery life and the fact i got this phone for free was a no brainer. The Atrix 2 may not be the most advanced android phone out there but it is a solid device and for people who are on a budget should consider this phone. First you get a dual core processor along with 1gb of ram helps keep things running quite smooth. The qHD display while not quite as saturated as AMOLED displays the colors are vivid and its actually quite bright. You can actually read whats on the screen outdoors compared to my old inspire where the minute you walked out into the sun everything was washed out. Even with the brightness at the lowest setting its more than adequate. Also what i like is the battery life. The Inspire although a very solid device the battery life was mediocre at best. I could maybe 15hrs. I managed to get with moderate to heavy usage i got just shy of 24hrs. The call quality was one thing i never liked about the Inspire sometime s calls sounded a tad garbled or really sharp tones almost kind of a tinny sound. The calls with this are warmer and more realistic and the speaker is quite loud. This also manages to hold on to a signal better and the Data speeds are actually quite good i managed to get 10mbs down at one point usually getting around 5-7mbs down much better than the Inspire. The downside to the Atrix though is that the Camera is a bit disappointing but that doesn't bother me because i don't use the camera alot any way but with some further software improvements it could be better. It only comes with 8gb installed but it no big deal because it can handle up to a 32gb sd card. last but not least is that it still runs Gingerbread. But Motorola has announced that this will be getting ICS. Im eager to see what this device is like with ICS installed

Posted by: from Peoria IL on 05/15/2012Not to bad of a Device for the price However when I was in best buy looking at devices one of my main questions was are these devices loaded up with preinstalled software Like Facebook,Myspace etc I was told no after a couple days of using the device I found tons of Apps that the end user can not remove and Motorola says that Best Buy Reps are suppose to be aware and trained to know all apps preinstalled and that and end user can not remove as i said before i asked if there was any and Best Buy said no I had talked with ATT and motorola and asked how to remove them from device there reply was as long as you never use the app it will never open up My reply was Facebook, Myspace you have to agree to there terms and if you do not agree you would not install or use there site/service with a cell phone even if you do not agree you have no way of removing the app They also say if you do not use the app it will not talk to the provider of that apps servers giving up your data location etc But since all these company's are into selling user data for money how do you really know those apps you cant uninstall are really not doing anything or are they silently sending your data further more if a end user has to deal with Apps that cant be uninstalled because advertisement / marketing deals made for big money id like to know were is my cut of that money the end user is the one holding the device that someone would look at and see your uninstallable apps which is advertisement for that App creator The End User / Consumer should have the Right to remove any App from any device furthermore End users / Consumers should be saying Enough is Enough with all the user data selling and preinstalled Apps they force you to live with on your device

Happy Purchase!

Posted by: from Cheboygan, Michigan on 05/09/2012This is the first smartphone I have owned; bought it as an upgrade from my old Blackberry. I loved my Blackberry, so it's a hard follow for this phone. I am very happy with my purchase, great call clairity and sound. The pictures are beautiful but the camera response began to slow however, after I had some media stored in memory. I took the phone to AT&T and the tech commented about the 2Gb memory card, so I purchased a 16Gb, class 10 and installed it. The speed is faster than brand new and I couldn't be happier. The phone screen is clear; the prompts make sense and are easy to follow; the battery life really isn't that bad. I was afraid I'd miss my Blackberry, but not at all, I love my new phone.

Posted by: from St. Petersburg,Fl on 05/09/2012sweated this one out after returning two other choices at the ATT store. The Mobile crew at Best buy was able to reassure my fears on the new phone and have helped me through the problem of going from a plain razr V3 to this super mini computer with a telephone built in. Still learning the features.
