Slowly degrades over time...2

Pros:
-The speed of the phone is a great overall experience. However, sometimes it tends to get bogged down.
-Standard Task-Killer notifies you when the phone is at max capacity for RAM.
-Swype is a great addition.
-It seems to have a good overall reaction time for the most part.
Cons:
-The price seems now to be overprice due to the fact that it tends to become unreliable.
-The battery life isn't short, but isn't long either.
-The phone randomly crashes from time to time, and a little too often. Most likely caused from memory overload, but not all the time.
-Ringer/speaker sometimes becomes distorted and delivers an ugly sound.
-Slide-out keyboard after rigorous use over a couple of months is starting to show wear-and-tear. Some keys must be pushed several times before working.
-At first glance this phone is amazing, after a while however it slowly loses value and becomes what seems like an extremely unreliable phone.3 out of 3 found this review helpful.

Extremely disappointed1

Regardless of the reviews I read, I thought that I would be one of those people that would not experience the technical issues others have experienced. I was dead wrong. I upgraded from a Droid 1 to a Droid 3 and I think I was better off keeping my Droid 1. My Droid 1 was more stable, it rarely ever crashed, the camera worked, and the GPS was more reliable. While yes, the Droid 3 does have some nice features like the screen, keyboard, and processing power, the flaws that it has really does not make this phone worth the purchase. The GPS is extremely unreliable. In many cases, I would be missing turns because you lose GPS connectivity. My Garmin that has outdated maps from 3 years ago is still more reliable. The camera blows. I hope you don't expect to capture the "kodak moment" of an amazing picture because the camera will crash about 90% of the time and it will not save your pictures. The Droid 3 is very unstable. It reboots randomly all the time and by the time the phone realizes its crashing, it takes forever for it to shut down and reboot on its own. Extended battery still fits with case cover and is almost a must buy for your phone to make it through the day.
I would not recommend this phone to anyone.1 out of 1 found this review helpful.

Great features, Slow Camera4

The processing of the camera function is very slow. With trying to get quick shots off of events, the time it takes to take the shot is entirely too long. I have missed quite a few "moments" due to the lag.0 out of 1 found this review helpful.

Love the full QWERTY5

If you only need one reason to buy this phone it is the full QWERTY. I hate the touchscreen keyboard because I always fatfinger and hit the wrong key.
Battery is decent, better than most other smartphones i've seen.11 out of 11 found this review helpful.

This is over all a pretty solid phone. Once in a while it randomly shuts off when i lock the screen, not sure why. The battery life is the worst of any phone I've ever had by far. off the charger at 7 am it is dead by 1 sitting idle. I own 5 batteries for this phone now to cure that. Great camera, love the system, very fast and solid as a rock.15 out of 19 found this review helpful.

Slowly falls apart2

Phone started out great but over just 2 or 3 months, the phone began to show multiple issues.
- The key board buttons would stick and just either keep deleting my text messages when i hit the backspace or endless trails of periods.
- Was very fast when I received it and even though I installed maybe 2 or 3 apps, the speed of the phone dropped a noticeable amount.
- Text messages don't always send even though I have at least a bar or 2 of signal.
- 2 times I have had the screen refuse to turn on even though the phone was still on receiving messages, I could not read them until I removed the battery and restarted the phone because the power button refused to shut my phone off.
Was very excited to get this phone because the Droid 1 was great with the exception of the speed so I thought this would be a perfect phone. Even though the speed is a little better than the Droid 1, the failure and problems that arose in other areas was not worth the purchase.9 out of 14 found this review helpful.

Great phone, even though it shipped with a few significant software glitches.
Keyboard is incredible, typing on it is incredibly easy and it feels extremely sturdy.
Screen is great, very readable outdoors, although in direct sunlight you can sometimes see the pixel matrix.
Innards are also great, the dual-core processor really makes a big difference. The RAM is a touch low, and with all of VZW's bloatware it can get bogged down sometimes, but it can still play every game I've tried on it smoothly.
According to forums, the software update that's coming out soon fixes all of the software glitches, so I won't mention them. What would really make this phone five stars, however, would be an unlocked bootloader...10 out of 14 found this review helpful.

It took a few days getting used to it but I now love it. I like the fact that the touch screen is not activated until I press the button on the top. My other touch screen phone would constantly turn on and go to who knows where all the time. Very easy to use. Great large screen. Camera takes great pics and videos. Speaker is very clear and the volume is sufficient. I love it and recommend it to everyone.16 out of 17 found this review helpful.

Pretty good, Little problems4

Great phone, battery is basic for a smart phone. All the reviews you see are "TERRIBLE BATTERY," OR "BATTERY COULD IMPROVE" But those are coming from people who have never had a smart phone, so going from a regular phone that you charge twice a week to a phone that you need to charge every night, they like to complain. the phone is nice and fast, I've had for like, 2 months now, and it has reset on me like 3 times, and the problem i'm getting now is that they keys on the keyboard will get stick and hit the key over and over. thats until you the back button, and have to back ALL the way up, gets quite annoying, but not that big of a problem. Great memory, great speaker, i have about 800 songs on my phone, and listen to them all the time. great screen, decent keyboard. Wish that the phone was 4g though. Only thing i could complain about is they keyboard is a little hard to slide out.20 out of 22 found this review helpful.

Best full keyboard on a phone4

This is great phone; the full five row keyboard is really nice for fast typing, however the UI that Motorola puts over Android is very buggy. I often find myself having to close the full keyboard just to get rid of the auto-text field when done typing a text message. And for some reason every now and then I'll lose a data connection even though I have full bars. i.e. nothing will sync, I can't send or receive text messages and I can't access the internet. This problem can only be solved by turning the phone off and on again. I would love to Root this phone as that would make it a five star phone.
Other than that, the dual core processor is very fast and the phone is very solid. I've dropped it twice already and still no scratches or chips.23 out of 24 found this review helpful.
