Posted by: from Kankakee on 03/15/2012I was paying $75 a month for a phone I rarely used, yet, I wanted to have one, especially if there was an emergency, to keep up with someone I am going to meet, or weather warnings. This phone fits the bill. I bought the 2 month card for $30. When I signed up, I found out I can order minutes online or on the phone that will carry over from month to month. No more almost 400 minutes and lots of money down the drain monthly. I can receive and send text messages and take pictures. It is bluetooth capable. That's all I need in a phone. I will now be spending $15/month or LESS for a working cell phone. It's perfect for me. I haven't used it that much, but it's worked everywhere so far except the hallway at work. I had a clear conversation when my daughter called me from New Zealand.

Good for What It Is

Posted by: from Lake Worth on 03/03/2012Had phone for 1 year without any real problems. Criticisms of Net10 are valid BUT once the phone is set up you don't need to deal with them. Adding minutes is easy. The phone's technical limitations described in the low-star reviews are also correct. BUT it's a $29 phone - and you get a lot for your $29! The phone and service are a bargain given what you pay.

Worth the money

Posted by: from Waco, TX on 02/09/2012I am a cheapskate, and I hate spending more money than necessary. I bought this phone after seeing how much my sister enjoyed using hers. The unlimited NET10 card was about the same amount as I was spending for 250 minutes with a contract phone. I needed more minutes and no-contract seemed the way to go. The buttons are very easy to use, and the screen is large enough to do the small amount of web browsing that I do. All of the functions I need are on this phone - calendar, web, alarm, changing ringtones, taking pictures. The only drawback are the constant NET10 messages about how many minutes you use. It's enough for me to see the minutes on the home page of the phone.
