It doesnt play some files through usb but if you use a neat thing called google you can learn how to convert to proper file formats. Streaming works great. Not as smooth as my ps3 but still not bad for $ 70.0 out of 1 found this review helpful.

Setup was painful due to a poorly performing remote. Probably would have been ok if the buttons worked reliably. Hulu streamed fine once I got it going, but navigating the menus was painful as I tried various positions and angles to try and get the unit to respond to the remote. New batteries did not remedy the problem. I will return this tomorrow.0 out of 0 found this review helpful.

I used to connect my laptop to my TV to watch netflix. I got tired of doing that, so I bought this. It was easy to setup, it's small and unobtrusive. The lag of pushing a button on the remote and then seeing results a second or two later takes some patience, but it brings up netflix with no problems and I can watch movies. It would be nice to surf the web on it, but at the price, I'm happy with it.0 out of 0 found this review helpful.

I wouldn't buy it again it works poorly and sometimes freezes while watching netflix. Tested my download and router its the box, wouldn't advise buying this I'm sure in the future newer models may flow better.1 out of 1 found this review helpful.

The only thing good about this device was that it was easy to setup. The interface was slow and laggy. The keyboard on the remote was junk and only responded to touch every so often. The selection of channels was inferior to like products. Took it back after several hours of use and exchanged it for a Roku. Best decision I ever made. Great price, if it actually worked.0 out of 0 found this review helpful.

I purchased this unit as a replacement for my old Roku unit. After two frustrating evenings with Neo, I boxed it back up and reconnected the Roku. The problem is that Neo stops working about 3/4 of the way through every program. It doesn't matter whether it is Netflix, HuluPlus, or CinemaNow, the box works great for the first 3/4 of the show and then stops and refuses to restart. I have to turn the unit off and then on again, which is fine for Netflix (as it will resume where you left off), but is very frustrating for HuluPlus, since if you stop 3/4 of the way through an hour-long episode, you have to restart from the beginning -- only to be cut off toward the end of the show again. I upgraded the firmware and confirmed that the signal strength was excellent. These were apparently not the problem. For some reason, the box just doesn't like to finish a show.3 out of 3 found this review helpful.

Overall this product was usable but didn't live up to my expectations. The QWERTY keyboard on the back never worked, there was a delay in response time from when I clicked an arrow on the remote to when it actually happened on the screen, the internet access is only available if your computer has WiDi, the channel selection is not as good as Roku. Ultimately I returned it and purchased a Roku 2 which I am very happy with!0 out of 0 found this review helpful.

I bought this unit thinking it was a good alternative to the Sony Internet Player with Google TV or WD Live, given the feature set, but I had difficulty from opening the box. The unit and remote had a very cheap feel to them, and I guess for $69, what should I have really expected? The set-up seemed easy enough, but the unit continually disconnected from my home network, although it was clearly in range. One of the features I hoped to use was the SlingPlayer app, which is designed to work with my Slingbox 350, and occasionally it worked, but even when it did it was extremely slow and hard to use. In the end, after several days of trying various features, most of which failed to deliver as advertised, I returned the NeoTV Max for a full refund. I ended up getting a Sony GoogleTV, and while its interface is far from ideal, and it is quite a bit more expensive, both its QWERTY remote and the SlingPlayer app work very well. I would stay away from the NetGear product until they resolve some of the quality issues.0 out of 0 found this review helpful.

I bought Neo TV max 300SL on Feb 25th. Netflix did not work after setup.
I contacted Netgear customer support. One of the representative helped me over a live chat to restore the device to factory settings and updated the firmware. Netflix started working for two weeks. Same issue again, called customer support again. Representative told me that the device is defective and suggested to get it returned. Returned the player and got a replacement 300 SL device on Feb 26th. New device also has the same problem. I am trying my luck for one more time by reaching out to customer support. If that does not solve the problem, going to return this device. Apart from Netflix issue, this player freezes frequently and have to power cycle. Remote has to be pointed straight to the player. I never had such a poor electronic device.0 out of 0 found this review helpful.
