Great graphics card, but a little pricey

Posted by: from Asheville, NC on 05/09/2013I recently purchased this same card but made by another company and the card only last a month. However I have now had this one one made by nvidia for almost 3 months now, with no issues at all.

Quality card without breaking the bank

Posted by: from VA on 04/28/2013I've replaced an aging 280 GTX while waiting for Heart of the Swarm. I can easily run everything on ultra settings with this card and still get very smooth frame rates.

Incredible card well worth the price
    5
Posted by: from Sayre, PA on 04/18/2013I replaced a Radeon 7570 1 Gig that came with my Dell, I tried an Radeon 7750 but it was having some issues so I returned it. I was going to exchange it but as I stood in the isle I kept looking at the Nvidia card which was twice the price of the Radeon, but in spite of that I decided to pull the trigger and go with the Nvidia. All I can say is wow! This card is amazing, the drivers are first rate. I've got a lot of games via Steam. Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 is incredible as is every other game I have. A very nice bonus is that I've got a lot of older games that use Open GL drivers. They stopped working years ago, not sure if ATI stopped including them in their drivers, but for laughs I tried them after installing this card and was very pleasantly surprised that they loaded right up and ran perfectly. Games like DOOM, Hexen, Quake, Duke Nukem are all playable again. Half Life 2, Counter Strike Source, Left for Dead, Serious Sam HD all run maxed out with decent FPS. The card is fairly quiet, but not silent and I didn't expect it to be. You can notice the fan speed after a few hours of playing games, but it cools down very quickly, temps hover in the upper 70's at idle. I upgraded my power supply just to be safe, it needs 550 watts and two power connections on the card so be sure to check out your PS before you leave the store. I was able to fit this card into a Dell XPS 8500, it was a tight squeeze but it fits. Excellent Card
    5
Posted by: from Panama City, FL on 02/08/2013This card provides performance well in excess of my expectations. The fan is a bit noisy. I have two identical computers running the same card, they're both the same. The noise isn't obnoxious, and you get used to it. The prices is $50 over MSRP, not what I expected from Best Buy at all. Someone else reported that he had several DOA cards that locked the PC at the BIOS screen. I had that too. It wasn't the cards. The store people and Geek Squad people I spoke to had no idea what it was. But for $50 they would install it for me. I took option B - About 2 minutes with Google. It's not even an "issue" it's merely having your ducks in a row before you install it. Funny they didn't know that. Fifty bucks more on a card that was already overpriced? No thanks guys, I got this one.

    Amazing
    5
Posted by: from Maple Valley, WA on 11/02/2012This card is amazing. I can run any game at ultra graphics settings with a high resolution. Fairly easy to install. It is a pretty big card like most newer cards. It requires two power plugs from the power supply so I had to make sure I had that when I got the power supply. Only problem now is if I ever wanted to do SLI with this card I would need to get a new power supply with four pci-e connectors which isn't going to be cheap. I probably won't need SLI to run any games for quite a while so it's not a big deal.

Fantastic Card But $50 Over MSRP
    5
Posted by: from Ohio on 10/10/2012If this is your first "real" video card you will love it. If you are buying it to replace a GTX 400 series, or equivalent, or older, you will love it. If you are buying it to replace a GTX 500 series, or equivalent, and expect a real noticeable overall increase, don't. I no longer play games that really take advantage of SLI, so I replaced both of my GTX 470 cards with this one. I removed the SLI bridge, removed the power connectors, removed the 2 cards, installed the 670 Ti, plugged in the 2 six pin power connectors, covered the unneeded slot holes in back, closed the case, started it up, updated the drivers, and never looked back. That as they say is that, very simple, not rocket science. One reviewer said not to spend the extra $$ on a 660Ti if the 550Ti was still available. I do not agree, because the 660Ti can and will do things for future gaming that the 550 will not. Money is a relative term when buying anything with multiple models. You can buy a GT520 for $49, or you can buy the GTX 690 for $1000 . I believe the 660Ti represents a great card in the upper middle portion of the higher end cards available today.
