This would be my most reliable zoom lens for my D7000. Great quality.0 out of 0 found this review helpful.

I've enjoyed having this lens. I used it on a cruise vacation and loved the convenience of not having to switch from my 18-50 to my 50-200 and vice versa. The image quality is just as good as using the 2 separate lenses. it does make the camera a little heavier than normal but not unbearable. I only wish it could accommodate a little wider angle on the lower end.1 out of 1 found this review helpful.

I purchased it about 6months ago and now this is my 2nd favorite lens to the 35mm 1.8G. I carry this one most of the time on my D7000. Great outside focal range for most of my needs. The pictures are sharp and the colors are beautiful. Nothing to complain about.
I took it to New Yrok City for a day trip and the set up was a little heavy to carry around all day but the great pics I got made up for it. I would recommend buying it.3 out of 3 found this review helpful.

No regrets, Great lens covers 90% of my shooting. Has barrel creep if you forget to lock it. Feels plasticky for a mid range lens.1 out of 1 found this review helpful.

Good General Purpose Lens (but not for low light)4

Be honest with yourself about what your intended use of this lens will be. If you're looking for a "do it all" lens then this is about as close as you'll get. If you're shooting high school sports events you may want to look at other options. This lens quickly drops to the 5.6 f stop setting when you start to zoom and in a gymnasium, theater or foot ball field you'll quickly feel the pinch of not enough light to maintain a reasonably fast shutter speed so the action doesn't get blurred.
I've had this lens for nearly a year now and use it for about 75% of my shots. If I had it to do over again I would probably get an f2.8 zoom to better deal with low light situations.30 out of 30 found this review helpful.

The Only Lens You May Ever Need !5

- I bought it for my new Nikon D7000.
- Very good image quality - little need for post processing with Photoshop.
- Best dedicated Nikon DX zoom lens covering the most used focal range (approx 27mm - 300mm in full-frame, 35mm terms), making rather unnecessary to change it too often. Macro, wide coverage, and low light needs may prompt switching to another lens.
- Greater zoom range and better construction and durability compared with the 18-105mm DX kit lens, still not much bigger or heavier.
- Fast auto-focus and good image stabilization when shooting in burst mode.
- Use a (Nikon, B&W, or Hoya) 72mm clear filter for protection !
- Negatives ? Costs more than twice the kit lens, but, a good camera deserves a good lens - as it happens,I got mine for half the price using longtime saved Best-Buy Reward Zone Points !13 out of 13 found this review helpful.
