Posted by: from Richmond, va on 05/19/2013Bought this for my daughter for trips, etc. She's not a prolific photographer, but this camera gives her good memories.

Posted by: from Two Rivers on 05/17/2013We purchased this camera for a trip to Disney with our grandchildren. We probably took ten pictures total and the LED screen/viewing screen stopped working . It came up with a black blotch in the middle of the screen. We went back to Best Buy less than 30 days after our purchase and they refused to return the camera for a refund. So we're not very happy with Best Buy or Nikon right now.

Posted by: from Mass on 05/17/2013Bought this camera on sale so got a VERY good deal. Picture and video quality is outstanding and the optical zoom range is a big plus. Easy to use for casual users and capable enough for more advanced photographers.

Good camera, intuitive interface, lots of features
    4
Posted by: from Chelsea, MA on 04/23/2013The Coolpix S6300 has all the modern features that my prior camera lacked: image stabilization, panorama mode, HDR imaging (for backlit scenes), and a great 10x zoom. Like most current cameras it has no viewfinder, but the screen is easily visible even in bright daylight. The interface is more intuitive than my wife's Sony. Picture quality is great, and I'm only using the 4M setting (it can do 16M). I like that you can recharge batteries right in the camera, that's one less gadget to carry around. On the negative side, the S6300 struggles to focus on closeup shots, and "macro mode" doesn't seem to help much. Start-up time is a little slower than I'd like (maybe 2s?) but not bad. Once the camera is on, shutter speed is excellent. The battery indicator is not very helpful, as it goes from "half-full" to "dead" very quickly -- always carry a spare!
