Although I didnt drop it off some tall building I did drop it out of my truck and watched it bounce across the parking lot several times. Wouldnt want to do that often but it did its job protecting the phone.

    Worthwhile trade-off

Waterproof, dustproof, shock resistant etc. Downside: Some plugs from second market power cords won't fit with case in place; adapter cord for earphones disengages speaker even with phones unplugged. Still a good idea as you can set off moisture indicator in the unprotected phone by just sweating on it.

    Posted by: from on 12/13/2011Bought this case a few weeks ago, I'm in construction and normally don't keep any phone on me when I'm working.. Since I've had this case I've kept my phone on me, dropped it 20 feet off the top of a building onto concrete and its still in perfect shape the plastic under casing was damaged slightly but the phone is still in mint condition.. If anyone wants a case to protect your phone from almost anything otterbox is the way to go

    Withstood rain and gravel for twelve hours

    Posted by: from on 12/01/2011Cant more highly reccomend it. My iPhone was in this case and after some drinks, got left on the side of a highway after falling out of my friend's car. Rained that night. 12 hours later it was found and my iPhone was in perfect condition. Worth the fifty bucks. Also, has a one year manufacturers warranty on it. I found a tear in my silicone, they are replacing it for free. DO IT.

The link below is from PC MAG and if you do a little reasearch you will find that Otterbox has officially stated that the original Defender case is not compatible with the 4s, but the new case is compatible with both iPhone 4 and 4s. http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2395210,00.asp#fbid=B5L_LGywcxO
