Good addition to secure MacBook Air
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a solution to locking up my MacBook Air, since Apple removed the security slot from the MBP and MBA laptops. The PNY was recommended by a friend. I like the way it fits, but it was a little difficult to get it installed. Just make sure you get the right metal tab for your computer. I do worry about thieves bending the tab, but it would take a bit of effort on their part.

It kind of seems like someone with the right tools could just cut the metal tab off very easily. I wish the large tab wasn't so long on the back end, but maybe that's for larger laptops than I have. Still, the smaller one I think I could pull right through the slot if I wanted. I don't want to scratch my screen or I'd try, but it looks like it will go. I wish the rubber coat the inside behind the logo or something so you're less likely to scratch it. Great cable length on the lock though. I also wish you could set your own combination.

A great cable to secure your laptop.

I would have liked to have picked my own code for the lock but no other issues as it just simply works and doesn't feel in the way.

Great for Macs, not so much for me

While I can still use the locking combo cable, the little metal pieces that hook into the screen didn't actually lock my computer. This product is only for Mac laptops!

I wish apple didn't take the security port out of MacBooks but this is a good solution to it. It keeps people honest.
