    Posted by: from orlando, fl on 04/02/2013It is no wonder that this television is rated as the best TV on multiple tech websites. The picture is spectacular. The room in my house that this TV is in is relatively bright during the day, so I worried a plasma would not look good. I have to say that this isn't an issue. Color fidelity using the TV's THX Cinema mode appears to be excellent. If the room does get too bright, switching to the THX Cinema Bright room mode takes care of any issues. When one purchases a TV one should not really expect much in the way of sound. I would say the sound of this TV is a little better than average (a caveat is that the room I have it in is quite large, it may be better in a smaller room). In any event no TV is going to really sound great from those small speakers. They need to be hooked up to external speakers. One issue I did have was that I have an older home theater system that does not have optical in, only analog. It would have been nice if the TV had both digital and analog audio out. This meant I needed a digital to analog converter to be able to get sound through my audio system. That works OK, but the sound fidelity is somewhat lacking. I'm now in the market for a new receiver (guess it was time any way) I bought the TV about 2 months ago and I have to say that I have had no regrets about this purchase. It's really a great TV.

It came down to this TV or the Samsung 8000 and if you do not use the applications very much then I suggest the Panasonic as the picture quality is better. Highly recommended for anyone.

I thought the picture quality of the older unit was good, but this unit is spectacular. You really can't beat plasma for picture quality, and among plasma TVs you can't beat this one. Appearance wise I'm more of a basic black person but the thin silver bezel is not unattractive or distracting. The glass screen surface reflects light somewhat and this can be a bit distracting. The 3D picture quality is also impressive; Avatar, and animated 3D movies look especially good. No glasses are included with the Panasonic, we're using inexpensive Samsung glasses that seem to work just fine. I don't use the built in speakers so I can't comment on the sound. Personally, I don't know why you'd put out for an HDTV like this and not connect it to a decent surround sound system. There's plenty of lower cost options out there but the price on these units has come down a lot making them a compelling option for those looking for best in class performance

I owned a pioneer elite before I bought this TV so picture quality was essential. The picture is perfect and very natural looking just as its suppose to be. Yes LED's are brighter but brighter is not better so don't be fooled by brightness. I went through 4 TV's in 2 weeks before finally spending the money and getting this bad boy. Best buy was awesome with letting me return multiple TV's and that was awesome. I tried to save money and go cheap in the beginning but in the end spending the money was well worth it. Had it professionally calibrated by geeksquad and got in near perfect picture although I set up the picture off of CNETS picture settings and it was pretty close to what it got calibrated to. The 3D picture is pretty good as well but it's not like oh my god 3D like you're in IMAX or something. It's great for my video games, blue rays and sports and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. If you got the money spend it, you'll be happy you did.

    Posted by: from Louisville ky on 02/28/2013This is the baddest plasma on the market hands down. I'm a Samsung guy but when I compared this to the E648000 the Panasonic won no doubt. The apps sweet needs work. My only complaint is the stupid adds on the volume bar. Really?!
