The sound was loud enough. Picture quality is good too. Kids enjoy watching it. The best thing is that it's pretty reliable. We have used it for more than a year without any problem.

So I'm very happy it didn't give me any trouble in the past year since I bought it. It's usually being used in my car. The screen contrast and brightness are pretty good so the watching experience with daylight is nice. The battery lasts about 5 hours, which is good too since we have a charger in the car

Going Strong After 2 Years!

Posted by: Sista863 from New York, NY on 05/02/2013My family loves this dvd player so much we own two. One player is over two years old and the battery still operates at 5 hours! The other player is over a year old and is also used every single day. BTW, both players are mostly used until the player states to plug in the AC cord.
The dvd's look very good and the sound isn't too bad but with headphones you get great sound. I wish this had a USB port to plug in external speakers powered by USB. I have several great sets of USB speakers by Go Groove and they would make this player perfect for us without worrying about recharging the Go Groove speaker we use with it that plugs into the 3.5mm jack.
That being said, we love over Philips dvd player and would not buy another brand as no other brand we have researched gives you a 5 hour battery. I highly recommend this player... PS: If you can stand the wait, wait for the holidays and buy it when it's under seventy dollars! :-)

Worked like we expected
