I was worried that the sound on this machine would be bad, as many of the comments on the site, remarked about the poor sound quality. That could not be farther from the truth. The sound was marvelous! My only regret is that the battery doesn't run for more than 5 hours. I had to stop & recharge the battery several times.4 out of 4 found this review helpful.

I had purchased a Sylvania model to take on vacation. We bearly used it before the vacation, but it failed to play DVDs consistently. This Philips player has been playing DVDs ever since we got it. The volume is loud. The screen is not high resolution so you notice the LCD grids if you keep looking for them, otherwise it is not a problem.2 out of 2 found this review helpful.

This dvd player is quite nice, it is very light, the picture quality is pretty good (even though it is Not 9" as advertised , it is 8" ) . My only complaint is that the volume (even at max) is very, very low. Other reviewers had the same complaint, but I also noticed that some reviewers stated that the volume was "very loud" so I decided to check it out for myself, so I bought it. I also noticed one reviewer stated that the first player he bought had a low volume, so he exchanged for another one ( same model) and the volume was great . Therefore, I assume that some of these dvd players have this manufacturing defect. I intend to return this player and exchange it for the same one, maybe I will luck out like the other reviewer and get one with a louder volume. I would have given this product 5 stars if not for the volume defect.2 out of 2 found this review helpful.

I bought the portable DVD player just for the fun of it. It was a great price on the "Deal of the day' offerings. Unfortunately after trying 3 different disks, I decided that it was defective and had to go back to the store to return it for a refund. Very disappointed!0 out of 0 found this review helpful.
