Posted by: hillfigger from Boston, MA on 06/11/2013This replaced a 15 year old stereo system with a much sleeker looking device. Sound quality is good enough for our bedroom, with more than enough volume output.
Remote is a nice feature. Dual alarms, with weekday/weekend settings is one of the main reasons I purchased this device over others.
The biggest drawback I've noticed is that if you want to use a playlist to wake up to, you have to name it Phillips (or something specific like that) which was a hassel to do so I just listen to it on random. Would be nice if that was easier to select an existing playlist to wake up to.
Overall, good device, reasonable price, good looks, good performance, and convienient features.

Worth the money and more

Was pleasantly surprised by a high quality sound in both the radio mode and iPod mode. The sound was so good that I moved it into our living room. Even my young-adult boys have been listening to their iPhones on it. Good bass and clarity. I will buy another for my cabin.

It also allows you to have a Mon-Fri alarm and then a weekend alarm. It has good sound to use as a speaker. Our Ipod has the commuter case on it, but the ipod cannot be easily put on player with the case on. That really stinks. If you case is smaller or does not have the flap like the commuter case then I think you could use the ipod with the case.

Unfortunately the sound quality is nowhere near the same - and I should not have expected it to be. We moved this from the kitchen to a bedroom where it is better suited.

It didn't have a +1hr/-1hr switch like the iHome unit for changing DST. The sound, dock and remote were awesome, but for me the small, non-useful display ("01-12" instead of iHomes "Wed, Jan 2") was the worst. Plugging in an iPod and it immediately playing was annoying, but not a deal breaker.
