It also allows you to have a Mon-Fri alarm and then a weekend alarm. It has good sound to use as a speaker. Our Ipod has the commuter case on it, but the ipod cannot be easily put on player with the case on. That really stinks. If you case is smaller or does not have the flap like the commuter case then I think you could use the ipod with the case.

Unfortunately the sound quality is nowhere near the same - and I should not have expected it to be. We moved this from the kitchen to a bedroom where it is better suited.

It didn't have a +1hr/-1hr switch like the iHome unit for changing DST. The sound, dock and remote were awesome, but for me the small, non-useful display ("01-12" instead of iHomes "Wed, Jan 2") was the worst. Plugging in an iPod and it immediately playing was annoying, but not a deal breaker.

Posted by: Hpipps from Ft.Collins, Co. on 04/12/2013Overall I like the clock and all the settings it has, but this is my second one because the display on the first one went out, so I'm worried that it might be a manufacturing shortfall. I also get frustrated when setting the alarms because it takes you through each of the 7 or 8 options before confirming, when it would be nice to just be able to change one thing and go. The sound is really nice and clear. The battery backup is great too, when needing to move it to another outlet, you don't have to reset all the settings.

It looks great but it is far larger than it needs to be so it takes up a lot of space on a nightstand. Also the sound is crystal clear - sounds great, but at the highest volume (32), it's not very loud for listening. I sleep with earplugs so I do need a louder volume to wake me also and this product is barely loud enough. It does have a lot of slick features though like adjustable snooze time, sleep mode, remote, and other costomizable features.
I'd give it 5 stars if it had more volume and didn't overpower my nightstand.
